Special Announcement - Correction


We apologise for the second email. We have corrected the information regarding application support.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has announced the availability of funding through the Tribal Climate Resilience Program. The program will provide funding for Tribal activities that support Tribal adaptation and resilience planning, ocean and coastal management planning, and relocation, managed retreat, or protect-in-place planning and design activities for coastal and riverine communities.

Full information is available on grants.gov. More information and guidance is also available on the BIA Tribal Resilience Program website.

The deadline for proposals is Friday, April 23rd at 5pm Alaska Time. Proposals must be submitted through grants.gov.

An informational webinar describing this year's funding will be held on Tuesday, March 2 from 11:00am to 12:30pm Alaska Time. Register for the webinar here. A recording will be available after the event.

There are nine total award categories:
  1. Trainings and Workshops
  2. Adaptation Planning
  3. Travel Support for Adaptation Planning
  4. Ocean and Coastal Management Planning
  5. Travel support for Ocean and Coastal Management Planning
  6. Capacity Building for Scoping Efforts to Support Future Adaptation Planning Proposal Development
  7. Planning for Relocation, Managed Retreat, or Protect-in-Place Activities for Coastal and Riverine Communities
  8. Internships
  9. Youth Engagement

ABOUT THE TRIBAL LIAISON
Malinda Chase is the Tribal Resilience Liaison for the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center and the Alaska Pribilof Islands Association. She is an Anvik Tribal member. Her role is to serve as a link between tribes and the climate science community in working together to increase tribal capacity to prepare for and respond to climate impacts and change.
