Go deeper this week...

This week in Kidzchurch we had the fourth installment in our WHO AM I? series. This week we followed on from our Family Service last week and thought about the implications of Jesus saying, "I AM the good shepherd" in John 10.

If you'd like to go deeper as a family this week why not try out some of the following:

For the littles: Make a friendship bracelet/cuff by cutting a toilet roll tube in half, then slicing it so that it fits on your little one's wrist. Allow them to decorate with pens, crayons, stickers, glitter (if you dare!) etc. They can wear them as a sign that they are a friend of God!

For school aged kids: Enjoy baking sheep cup cakes. Find the instructions here. Once you have finished, you could share them with your family or your friends! Whilst you are baking you should spend time asking God to remind you of how Jesus is the Good Shepherd.

For tweens and teens: This passage is an invitation to friendship and intimacy with Jesus. So often we see God as a far away force, but here is the simple yet profound truth that we can experience the friendship of God. Use the scripture here to help you draw closer to God. You may want to meditate on it and invite Jesus to draw closer to you. Or you can mindfully and prayerfully colour in the scripture (perhaps while listening to worship music) again asking God to reveal himself to you.

We look forward to seeing you and your children in March as we continue to discover more and more about Jesus!

The Kidzchurch Team

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd. Thank You for coming—not to be served, but to serve—and for dying for the sins of the world. We pray that each of us would know you more and more each day, hear Your voice, and follow You.

We ask these things in Jesus’ name,

Amen.
