Hi <<First Name>>,

We have just found out Startup & Innovation Tablelands Facebook page has been taken down in the Facebook stand against the Aust Govt.
So:

  1. We are re-sending details of our 2 workshops for today and Sat, in case you were relying on FB reminders

  2. This FB thing? Is out of our control, and we are giving some brief advice here as to what to do if your business FB page has been “nuked”

This is a strong reminder of why you should never totally rely on any of the social platforms for your business.
Firstly please log in to your FB page but then make sure you click the “View as visitor” link to check if your page is still there. As an admin - you will still see your page so it’s imperative that you “View as visitor”

If your Facebook page is down - make sure you inform your clients about what is happening - by email if possible.
If you have any hints, clues, horror stories please let us know in the comments on our website

We will begin investigating what steps are available to businesses affected by this and will keep you posted on our website as we find out more information.

Working in the Big-Smoke from my Rural Home with Leah Stevenson

Adapting to a flexible hybrid (physical & virtual) meeting and workplace environment by successfully integrating the home and office.

This Friday's Business Zoom Catchup: Fri 19th Feb  12:30 - 1:15 pm

More people are working from home. Businesses and Start-Ups alike are using virtual meetings to connect with new and established clients. Some businesses have capitalized on the virtual revolution to find the best person for the job ‘virtually’ rather than the 'closest' person to the office.

Hilarious online videos have shown us what happens when hybrid meetings don’t go to plan. For instance, the US lawyer who couldn’t remove the cat-face zoom filter during court. It’s a crack-up!

More seriously, poorly run hybrid meetings are frustrating and cause a loss of productivity, impact on team morale and feelings of disempowerment.

Communication is key!

Getting these meetings right is important for good first impressions, team coherence and productivity.

In this Friday session, we will cover tips on

  • Effective communication in hybrid meetings
  • Improve collaboration
  • Common hiccups

At the end of this session, you will positively conduct and contribute to your hybrid meetings.

My name is Jean Thomas and I have been living and working in the remote rainforest communities in Papua New Guinea for nearly two decades (www.tenkile.com). During this time I have had to overcome many struggles and hardships including learning to live without my family, raising a child in isolation, no communication, no power, no flushing toilet, walking for hours on end and frequent bouts of malaria. This experience has provided me with opportunities for deep personal growth and development but also resulted in many conservation awards and accolades. I would like to share with you the secrets to my success to assist you on your personal journey. I do hope you can join me.
