SACVAC!
St. Andrew Coronavirus Vaccination Access Team

Six more parishioners got appointments with help from SACVAC. New appointments will become available again at 9 AM on Monday. We are ready to help seniors navigate the online process for obtaining a vaccine appointment as well as provide transportation and company through the whole process. Call or email us if you would like assistance. If we're not able to answer the phone one of the volunteers will call back as soon as possible.  standrewpdxvaccine@gmail.com  and the phone number is 541-708-2122 which is, unfortunately, a long distance call if you're calling from a landline.

Here is a link to a list of vaccination locations and pertinent information about each site.

It is important to watch this video - click this link to learn how to set up an appointment. It might be all you need. But please call us if we can be helpful in any way. St Andrew parishioners are here for one another. Be well, everyone. We love you.

TIPS
  • To get Covid alerts and vaccine updates on your cell phone text 898211 with ORCOVID in the message. You will then receive a message prompting you to choose English or Spanish.
  • You do not need a MyHealth Account. Some sites encourage signing up for one but it is not necessary.
  • To book an appointment you will need to provide your name, address, phone, email address if you have it and insurance company name/plan if you have insurance - if not select "no insurance."
  • Washington Residents - seamar.org/covid-vaccine.html
  • You may need to keep trying if you're not successful on the first try.
  • Safeway/Albertsons enter your zip code to see the 6 vaccine sites closest to you. If none pop up, you can try nearby zip codes to see additional locations. It will give you the six closest to the zip code you enter.
  • The Convention Center has wheelchairs and volunteers available but there are no chairs to sit on as you make your way through the check-in stations. If you cannot stand for 30 to 60 minutes either get a wheelchair at the entry or bring a walker with a seat!
  • The Airport is a drive through - you don't have to get out of your car.

Journey with the Saint John’s Bible Lent 2021 at St. Andrew
Looking for a way to deepen your prayer life this Lent? Join us for “Journey with The Saint John’s Bible,” a free online series by the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame. You'll explore the Church’s tradition of reading Scripture and depicting it in art, explore several spectacular illuminations from The Saint John’s Bible—a hand-written, hand-illuminated Bible crafted in the 21st-century, and take a deep dive into the Scripture passages those illuminations depict. You'll also learn how to pray with Scripture and art through guided experiences of lectio and visio divina and have the opportunity to grow in faith with others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfCeNXVku3U&feature=youtu.be

Oregon Law Center 2021 Eviction Protection
What to Know: Rent Assistance The 2021 statewide eviction protections are different from last year’s. The new protections are not automatic. The new protections apply to tenants who have had financial problems during the pandemic. If you qualify, you must give your landlord a signed declaration of financial problems to prevent eviction. A declaration you can use is on the back of this document.  Click here for more information and FAQ.

St Andrew Resources

Visit the Parish Website Lent: The parish Website will contain the readings, music for the season, devotional and prayer resources for the Domestic Church, and information videos about the season of Lent. This page will go live on Sunday afternoon.

Visit the Parish YouTube channel: Here you will find recordings of the Lectionary readings for Year B and the RCIA Readings for Year A; 3, 4, 5, Lent which include the Gospel stories of the Woman at the Well, The Man Born Blind and Raising of Lazarus. See parishioners both far and near who are recording these reading to help us stay connected to the Word of God and each other.

You may attend Mass in person.
The Sunday Mass will also continue to be live-streamed.

We are able to accommodate up to 25 people each week for Mass. We will need volunteers to check people in each week, take them to their seats, and people to stay afterward to sanitize the church. Contact Michael Prendergast if interested in attending Mass and volunteering for these tasks, mprendergast@archdpdx.org. Masks are required, with social distancing and contact tracing.

Volunteer opportunity - Your help is needed.
As we move forward in welcoming people back to Mass on Sunday, we need a person who can find an app (there are several options available) and monitor attendance for the 9:30 Mass on Sunday. You don’t have to attend Mass yourself but rather would let us know each week who will be attending. At the present time we are only allowing 25 people to come to Mass. If you can take this new ministry, please call Michael Prendergast (503-756-7172)
