Group Use at MERA

No one should enter the building unless it is a scheduled time. This is being done to ensure the #s of people inside remain small.
Anyone using MERA MUST conduct a health check prior to attending. The Ministry of Health has provided an easy online self-assessment tool for the general public to access: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
Mandate: Collect contact information from participants. EVERYONE entering MERA MUST read and sign the covid information and contact sheet at the door. In case of a COVID-19 outbreak, the Health Unit will need to contact participants. All participants MUST provide contact information including full name and phone number or email Physical distancing and use of face coverings/masks
In all cases, individuals are required to continue to maintain physical distancing of at least two metres or 6 feet.
Mask must be worn for all indoor events as per the Health Unit instruction. As of October 2, 2020, mandating the use of face coverings/masks in all public indoor settings across the province, such as businesses, facilities and workplaces
Gloves are not permitted.
There are 2 hand sanitizer units on the wall, multiple bottles throughout MERA and 2 washrooms with soap & water
Avoid touching their faces including eyes, nose and mouth. Hands should be washed thoroughly and frequently, including after touching one’s face.
Spaces marked in Dean Hall and in the MERA room
Only blue hard chairs to be used so they can be sanitized after each use. Do not stack.
The kitchen area remains closed at this time. No exceptions. No buffets or self-service options for food or drinks. No coffee or tea is available at MERA. Cleaning requirements
MERAs requirements are clearly stated on the waiver form for individual & group use.
All participants must wash their area before leaving following the directions on the containers. Don’t forget to wipe commonly touched areas such as doors, door handles, light switches, seating including arm rests, etc.
Washrooms must be cleaned after each use.
David is cleaning top to bottom once a week, or by special request. Membership Renewal & other payments
Use of cash is discouraged at this time. MERA is asking when possible that an e transfer be done. If that is not possible, leave cash clearly labelled in the drawer. Cheques are discouraged at this time. If a cheque is used, please know it will not be deposited immediately. # of People

Try out the Board The MERA board of directors have an exciting time ahead as we open up and the warmer weather activities start. Groups are returning to the schoolhouse as I write this and the programming committee is considering many new and original events. The Board meets once monthly. Current meetings are virtual, but I see us returning to regular meetings shortly. Please consider joining us! There is no hard commitment required; just try it out and see if you would like to become a Board member. The next meeting is March 2nd at 7:30pm.

MERA Bereavement Connection Circle with Laurie Lynn Clark
Laurie Lynn Clark is offering a 5-week online (Zoom) program to provide opportunities for adults who are bereaved to connect, to share their experiences of loss in a supportive environment and to honour their loved ones. The structured part of the group will last for an hour.
Participants are encouraged to attend all 5 sessions. Although, participants are welcome to drop-in on the first session to ensure that it is a good fit for their personal bereavement process.
Participants may notify Laurie in advance if they are unable to attend a session. Registration will be limited to 8 participants.
This 5 Week Bereavement Circle Online Sessions are scheduled at1pm on the following Tuesdays:
February 23rd, March 2nd, March 9th, March 16th, March 23rd 2021.
