Catholic Newman Center
at the University of Houston
Like many in the Houston area, the Catholic Newman Center sustained damage due to the winter storm this past week. We are hopeful to reopen soon, but are not sure how long it may take.

Depending when the CNC is ready to reopen, we may resume our usual events and hours this week. Please keep an eye on social media for updates.

Announcement from Fr. Charlie:
Last Sunday evening at vespers in the chapel of Holy Rosary Priory, after election by my brother friars on February 8, I signed the letter of acceptance and made the profession of faith and took office as prior of our Dominican priory for the 3 year term. I humbly ask for your prayers as I begin this office. My service at the UH Newman Center continues as before. St. Dominic, pray for us, ruega por nosotros, ora pro nobis!
Since on campus Ash Wednesday Masses were cancelled due to the weather, please find Fr. Charlie's Ash Wednesday Lenten Message here as we kick off this liturgical season!
There are a few limited spots available for our Lenten Small Groups! Sign up here before they run out!
We are looking for people to spiritually adopt us or an aspect of our ministry for Lent. Whatever you offer is fine: daily or ongoing suffering, Mass, Rosary, etc. We need it.
Sign up here.
UH Day of Remembrance is historically held the first Tuesday in March each year to honor our Cougar Family – students, faculty, staff, alumni & friends of the University – that have died the previous year.

Check here for more information for this year's Day of Remembrance including how to submit names and photos.
Calling all breakfast lovers! Come join us for Breakfast Club every morning (M – Fr) at 9 am in person in front of the Career Center next to A.D. Bruce and the square fountain or virtually via Google Meet!

What is Breakfast Club, you ask?
It’s a group of Christ-seeking friends that cast their petitions and worries at the feet of the Father through Our Lady’s intercession by praying the rosary and then getting breakfast at Cougar Woods! We pray for Claire, Claudia, Father Charlie, and all CSO intentions posted on this chat. Please let us know how we can pray for you!

How do I join?
Please join the Breakfast Club (BC) group me by following this link: https://groupme.com/join_group/52469123/XeGBwB3b
The link to the daily Google Meet link will be posted in the BC group chat.
We pray for an end to this pandemic and healing to those who are suffering physically, emotionally, and financially due to the pandemic. May they find peace and hope in Jesus Christ. We pray for the souls of all those who have died due to the Coronavirus and the consolation of their loved ones.

For our seven students in small group evangelization formation this semester. May God guide, bless, and draw them near during their formation and prayer times.

We pray for all those who are still without power or clean water or have damage to their homes due to the winter storm. We pray for the repose of the souls of those who have died due to the cold. Lord, protect and bring healing to their homes and hearts. Give us a spirit of generosity to help how we can.
Need prayer or someone to talk to/pray?
