The city tackles the snow
Thank you, Carmel Street Department!

In preparation for the snowstorms that hit this week, the Carmel Street Department worked 12-hour shifts that started at midnight on February 14. With the high snow totals and high wind gusts, the road crews first concentrated on main and secondary roads before moving to a full city plow. Please remember to give extra time for any travel and remember to give our plow crews extra room on the roads. Thank you for keeping our streets clear and safe!

Next phase of Range Line Road transformation will extend boulevard design, create new east-west access to Midtown

The City of Carmel plans to begin the next phase of transforming Range Line Road from a five-lane stretch of roadway – between City Center Drive and Elm Street – into a beautiful, tree-lined boulevard. This Midtown portion of Range Line Road will provide a continued boulevard treatment featuring elements found further south, such as pedestrian-friendly crosswalks, bike-lanes and landscaped medians. It will also have a new roundabout at Walnut Street (6th Street SE), which will eventually continue west, creating an east-west connection from Range Line to Monon Boulevard and eventually 3rd Avenue SW.
