New Intern Welcomed at Bethany School
Singing and jumping – all part of a school welcome – filled Bethany School with joy February 23 as Anouska Newhouse (nicknamed Nou-Nou) arrived in Tanzania to begin an internship to assist teachers in the classroom and mentor students in reading. Nou-Nou hails from Essex in a village called Kelvedon, about 50 miles from London. She recently graduated from high school receiving A level grades in Religious Studies, English Literature and History. In addition, she was a sports scholar and captained a number of Kent County hockey teams. She also headed a mental health society at school and ran a peer listening program for younger students. She plans to pursue her university studies after a gap year, which includes volunteering in Tanzania. We look forward to her presence at our school and are fortunate to have her with us.

Three Sponsors Needed
This past year has been difficult for so many -- and that includes some of our generous donors. As a result of some challenging circumstances, we now have three children in need of sponsors. If you were contemplating sponsorship, now would be a great time to make it happen. I know the families of these three deserving children would appreciate your support very much. Because each of them takes the bus, it would mean a $400 annual donation or $34 monthly.
