Message From Pat

Folks,
We intend the minutes to go to those people who have made a financial donation in the last three or four years, or who open every newsletter we send, and yes some wonderful people do that.  If you're in one of those groups, we think you are interested in the workings and progress of the organization and may find the minutes interesting.  We know we don't have our list quite right, sorry, and we will be paring it down over the next couple of months.  If you like receiving the minutes, but haven't made a donation in several years, think about doing so.  And thanks.

Updates on some items from the minutes:
*Aisha Shea Hill withdrew his proposal for a raft launch in Husum, and we are grateful for that.
*Skeele is a poster child for what can go wrong with legal timber harvest - trees continue to fall, erosion continues to affect water quality in Mill Creek, and agencies continue to make no difference.  We're hoping for a visual account as a useful, gloomy prognosis of what can happen.
*Under Canvas.  An appeal was filed on the SEPA.  You can read it here.  As far as I know, the hearing date hasn't been set, but will be in May.  I don't understand the process, since a hearing should allow for public comment, but this hearing is in front of a hearing examiner, not the BOCC.  When the public notice comes out, maybe it will clarify things.
*SDS.  We sent a newsletter on April 13 with an update on SDS.  If you didn't see it, try this link.
*Packet of information for board members.  We are making progress on this, hope to have it completed in time for  approval at the May board meeting.

Good health to you all and to the River.

Absent a quorum, minutes were reviewed but not approved.

Financial Report

The December 31 bank statement was reviewed.  We have hired Numberworks Bookkeeping on a month-to-month basis to do the bookkeeping.

Lisa will prepare an agreement for us to sign with Joel Roth, filmmaker, for a short film on SDS.

Committee Reports

Klickitat Cleanup:  Dave reported on clean-up activities. He will be attending a Gorge Commission meeting in February to discuss concerns.
