Return to Campus

Dear Cristo Rey De La Salle Community,

We pray that you and your family are doing well and that God continues to shine love, hope, and healing your way.

Our COVID-19 Task Force at Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School has been meeting weekly to discuss and prepare for a safe return to campus. The Task Force is composed of school leaders across multiple departments including our consultant, Teri Rose, a Senior Research Analyst of Palliative Care from the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center

In order to reopen we must comply with all local, county and state guidelines and have no more than 7 daily new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents and no more than 8% of those tested to test positive for COVID-19. This would move us into the “red tier” (the state has created a color tiered system to determine when a particular county may reopen schools, see below chart).

The good news is that as of 3/2/21, Alameda County’s “New Cases” has dropped to 6.3 (within the Red Tier range), and been consistently below 4.9% positive tests (Orange Tier Range) but the county must stay in the Red Tier for more than two weeks to formalize the Red Tier status.

Mustang Movers & Shakers!

Charity (left) is a great addition to the Narika team. She always brings a positive attitude and creative, resourceful energy that helped us launch our first ever TikTok series on Teen Dating Violence (which recently got over 7K views!!). Charity has spearheaded our effort to collect stories from the community and share them to raise awareness. Charity is always proactive, thinking ahead to solve problems and smiling the entire way. Thank you Charity for your dedication to this movement!

Jennifer (right) came back with a bang. Jennifer’s energy, HER POSITIVE ENERGY, her enthusiasm started to shine through like crazy! Honestly, who is this girl…!!? I mean she jumped into each and every job and took a personal ownership of each one. She asks the right questions, and whenever she asks an obvious question she should have known the answer to, she finishes my explanation, nodding she knew it! Of course she did. Jennifer is getting better each day, more confident, and I don’t think I’ve seen her anything but busy. She jumps into any job with enthusiasm, kind of giggles when she’s done sooner than expected, and just seems happy. Happier than she was then when she started! We have a confidence in Tuesdays now. Thank you Jennifer for being a fantastic part of our team! You deserve it!
Michelle's (left) performance is excellent. Michelle worked independently yesterday scanning and organizing files and media for my office. She is always able to work hard and as a result I am able to get some of my regular work duties done as well. I appreciate the help she's giving both Kathleen and myself. Her efficiency's very appreciated. Thank you for a job well done. Keep up the good work!

Salaya (right) is the genius mind behind Narika’s Bracelet Fundraiser which raised almost $300 for our survivors of domestic violence. We are so appreciative of Salaya’s ingenuity and creativity, especially when it comes to applying her interests and talents to her role at Narika. Salaya is consistently pleasant at our team check-ins and has grown leaps and bounds over the last few months. I’m proud of her work and willingness to both try new things and make old things work even better. Great job Salaya!
