Study Nears Completion - What's Next?

Our team of consultants lead by FEI are close to issuing the final report for the Viability Study and Economic Impact Assessment. Like everything at the moment, progress has been hindered by COVID but the team have gone above and beyond the call of duty to gather, analyse and model the information needed from many sources, and to develop proposals for a sustainable future for the Streatham Hill Theatre.

In parallel, we continue to work with Lambeth, GLA and the Theatres Trust, and to engage with the current owners and operators. We are exploring potential partners, funders and operators for the future SHT.

It's great to have your support, and support from across the local community and the creative community, from professional advisors, and much wider afield.

Now it's time to kick off some next steps in the planned campaign:

  • Form a team to plan how we could open and operate the building
  • Restart fundraising to help pay for access and operation
If you can help with these now, or in any other area of the campaign, please come along to our next campaign meeting (see below), or drop us an email. Thanks!

PS. If you or someone you know has experience with articulated trucks delivering to difficult to access places, we'd really appreciate some advice!

Or would you be willing to co-ordinate a programme of such work from volunteers? If so, please come along to our next campaign meeting (see above), or drop us an email. Thanks!

The Campaign So Far

Find out why we think the building is worth re-opening, who supports us and what you can do to help in this detailed campaign overview.
Watch Now

Theatre has Historical Significance

The Statement of Historical Significance by leading international architecture firm Aedas brings together over 100 pictures and drawings to show that the 1920’s building is a potentially well preserved time capsule, but that the clock is ticking (actually the one in the foyer has stopped!).

Do you have any historic material relating to the theatre? Photos, programmes, posters etc? If you have, would you be willing to email over photos, scans, articles etc., or donate them to our growing archive? Please drop us an email.

Can you help?

Our Spacehive Crowdfunder was extremely successful, with pledges from hundreds of supporters and we thank everyone who contributed! Unfortunately, when Spacehive processed the pledges, some could not be collected. We still have a small shortfall of around £400. As we move forward with the Viability Study we are asking if you can spare a little more? And any extra will help the next stages of the campaign.
