Be safe and well!  Sandee

I apologize I have not put out a calendar for 2 months. Hard to believe I find myself so busy.  Hope you are staying well & getting vaccinated if you can.  Frank’s 2nd vaccine is 2/22 & mine is 2/27.  I also apologize I did not get to promote several events that happened this month and in January...OK, after working 2 full days on this update, and still not getting everything in, I understand why I didn't do an update earlier!  Stay well.  Sandee

Iowa County Covid Statistics (though most are recovered) total 1833 since March 2020.

I think many of you may have your 2nd Covid vaccines on Sat. 2/27.  I received the following alert so it looks like people who received their 1st vaccines at Uplands Hills should go to Lands End for their 2nd vaccine:  Beginning Monday Feb 8, ALL Iowa County Health Dept. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics are moved to the Lands' End Comer Center (Received from the Iowa County Emergency Management System)

If you have questions about the Covid vaccination or your eligibility, please contact the Iowa County Health Department at 608.930.9870 or email healthinfo@iowacounty  If you are 65 or older, live or work in Iowa County or are a patient at an Upland Hills Health Clinic or SSM Health Dean Medical Group in Dodgeville or Mineral Point, please add your name & contact info to the vaccination waiting list by clicking the link at:  https://uplandhillshealth.org/patient-visitors/covid-10  If problems, call 608.930.7224 between 8:30 am & 4:30 pm MON thru FRI.  Only register when your group is eligible.

Katie Green, formerly of Spring Green, whom many of you know, has finished “Shall We Gather At the River?”, the last of a trilogy of novelized histories based on pioneer families to the California Gold Rush, many of whom were from the Midwest.  In particular, Mineral Point & Dodgeville disgorged their population of miners to “The Excitement” in 1848 through the early 1850s & play a role in the books.  The last volume takes place in 1879-80, as the main character, Deborah Whitney, struggles with the last gasp of restrictive Victorian etiquette and her duties as caretaker of her mother, who has a mortal illness.  The trilogy is another collaboration between author Katie Green & graphic artist/publisher Kristin Mitchell, & is appropriate for adults/young adults.
