Hi Friend,

"Good writing about love features the same virtues that define a good relationship: honesty, generosity, open-mindedness, curiosity, humor and self-deprecation. Bad writing about love suffers from the same flaws that define a bad relationship: dishonesty, withholding, defensiveness, blame, pettiness and egotism..”

Our last Truthful Tuesday session was all about love and romance.
Our first prompt what was a piece of romantic advice that you received and did you follow it? got us thinking about some of the early advice we received about choosing a husband and always putting others first. Our second prompt was Describe your first love which took us to chlldhood crushes and longings. For this last prompt I suggested writers try a very close point of view so that we see and experience it from that in-love perspective, which can show us both the absurdity and poignancy of our early attempts at love.

Next Tuesday's topic is Themes and Threads. We’ll take a look at how using themes and recurring motifs can support and build structure and meaning into our pieces.

What do you mean by donation?
I offer these workshops for free but If they feed your creativity I hope you will pay it forward. The Paul Thomas Scholarship fund helps vulnerable kids pursue their education. http://raycam.org/paul-thomas-memorial-scholarship/
