The Skurnik Series:
A Guided Virtual Tour

We’re excited to announce the upcoming Skurnik Tasting Series “A Guided Tour” with the folks that bring these wines to the USA. This is a four tasting series including wines from  Italy, Portugal/Spain, France and Germany/Austria. If you follow Kermit Lynch, Jenny & Francois, Rosenthal and other specialized suppliers, check this out! Cost = FREE, just grab some of the wine and join us!

Sarah's Pick Of The Week

Otto's Constant Dream
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand

My favorite under $20 New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Definitely still has lots of herbal and grassy qualities like your traditional NZ SB, but also has some unique tropical and stone fruit notes, giving it really nice complexity for $14.99. With this Spring-like weather I'm starting to crave a crisp white wine, and this is definitely a go to! -Sarah

Abie's Picks Of The Week

Various Smoked Lagers
Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier Smoked Lentbeer
Oxbow Sap Haus Smoked Dark Lager
Noble Beast Embers Only Smoked Helles Lager

Once upon a time smoked beers were myriad. Open flame dried the malt and left it's kiss upon the grain. The heady liquid, when complete, rich, earthy, it's purpose more sustainance than satisfaction. Industry made short work of the gift that fire once bestowed but those who know keep the ember alive. Crack the can, let it waft over you.

These beers present best when they are cool, not cold. Let them sit out for a few minutes before opening and pouring into a glass. Smoke is a nuanced and polarizing flavor in beer. If you are curious but wary try them with smoked or grilled sausages or a smoky chicken paprikash.

Shelley's Pick Of The Week

Max Ferd Richter
Mülheimer Helenenkloster Eiswein
Riesling
Mosel, Germany

It is becoming more and more difficult to find a true German Eiswein these days due to climate change. These grapes were pressed while frozen, creating a concentration of sugar and flavor. A lovely palate and nose of honey, pear and pineapple is balanced with a beautiful, clean finish. This wine will pair beautifully with a variety of cheeses, especially those that are more pungent. This is a rare and delicious treat for yourself! -Shelly
