Please join us in prayer (but not physically) each day at 9am as the vicar and curate pray for us.
Please join us in prayer (but not physically) each day at 6pm praying for our community and our nation.
A prayer for our Nation:
Loving God, you know us and all that we are facing.
We thank you that we can come to you as we are
– with all our fears and concerns, our difficulties and challenges.
Please draw close to each of us and those we remember before you now.
Bring to us your peace and comfort.
And fill us with your Spirit that we may be bearers of your grace and hope to others.
As a country protect us, encourage us and keep us.
In the name of your Son Jesus we pray.
Amen.
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Come now … flee for a while from your tasks,
hide yourself for a little space from the turmoil of your thoughts.
Come, cast aside your burdensome cares,
and put aside your laborious pursuits.
For a little while, give your time to God, and rest in him.
Enter into the chamber of your mind,
shut out all things save God and whatever may aid you in seeking God;
and having barred the door of your chamber, seek him
(St Anselm).
Pause and Pray @ 6pm
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York are asking everyone in the nation, whether they have a faith or not, to pause and pray at 6pm daily from 1st February. Please join us in prayer. If six O'Clock doesn't work for you, please commit some time that suits you. God Bless us all.
