Hi <<First Name>>

Welcome to Digital Brand Bites.  A snack-sized deconstruction of social media content from big brands. This week, we have:

❤️Valentine’s Day special - I've picked out some of the unusual ways brands got romantic/cringe on social media.

💛 Psst, show some love to the new Digital Brand Bites on Instagram, give us a follow.

💜Enjoy your digital bites - Bon Appétit!
💶The European Central Bank is the central bank of the 19 European Union countries which have adopted the euro.

💶 They jumped on the Valentine's Day poem trend with some financial reassurance. This was especially surprising for one of the most important central banks in the world. Good on them for making finance a tiny bit more interesting.
🕴The Central Intelligence Agency is the first line of defence for the United States. They got weirdly romantic on Valentine's Day by asking its users to decipher this code.

🕴The CIA is known to be at the heart of accusations of spying, covert overseas missions, torture and meddling in foreign governments, so this 'cute' Valentine’s Day message from the agency was not what people wanted or expected. 👇

💬“The new woke CIA is so cuddly and lovable,” the right-leaning Zero Hedge Twitter responded to the tweet.

💬“I'm nostalgic for the days the CIA skulked around in the dark doing scary things instead of trying to get more likes and RTs on Valentine's day than Dorito's corporate twitter feed,” author Matt Stoller tweeted
🍑Age UK is a charity for older people. Their personable, honest and empowering tone of voice really shone through in its latest Valentine's Day tweet.

🥒The post was part of its #intimacyinlaterlife campaign which addresses negative stereotypes of sexuality in older people. Have to admit, the post did make me cringe but also, opened my eyes 😲.
👮‍♂️Isle of Wight Police tapped into Valentine's Day with a proposition so romantic, it's almost criminal.

👮‍♀️Clearly sick of being 'ghosted' by people with warrants, they said
: "Does your ex - Valentine have a warrant outstanding? Do we need to speak to them? Are they avoiding us? Do you know where they are? If you can answer yes to these questions we can provide them with door to door transport (I might even be the driver 😉), accommodation, a delicious Valentines meal and maybe even a scenic ferry crossing to Portsmouth if our own Custody centre is busy. 🌹"
Starbucks is the world's largest coffeehouse chain known for its expressive and functional tone of voice, designed to make users smile.

☕It looked like a sweet dedication to a loved one but ended up as a cheeky plug for its coffee.

😉 You got me there Starbucks!

😝Anyway, off to Costa.
