Happy Chinese New Year, Pittsburgh!

Lunar New Year is a 15 day celebration (Feb 11- Feb 26th) that will be celebrated by 1.5 billion people worldwide. The celebration is observed in China, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Tibet, and more. In terms of the Chinese zodiac animal, it's the Year of the Ox, in which characteristics such as honesty and hard work are associated with it.

Join Welcoming Pittsburgh and the  Organization of Chinese Americans Pittsburgh virtual kick-off on February 15th at 6 pm on Facebook.

Interested in feasting with our neighbors? Here is a list of restaurants making special Chinese banquet-style Lunar New Year set meals to celebrate the two weeks. Some are donating what they can to help furloughed restaurant workers adversely affected by COVID.
