2021 Berkeley Haas Black History Month Celebration: "Toward a Racially Just Workplace"
Monday Feb 22, 4PM PST
  • Please join the Berkeley Haas DEI office as they host Professor Laura Morgan Roberts from UVA's Darden School of Business discusses steps to increase organizational awareness of racial inequalities and promote racial justice at work.
  • This event will be an opportunity for the entire Berkeley Haas community to celebrate the contributions, achievements and presence of our Black community members at Berkeley Haas and beyond.

2021-2022 International Exchange Program Webinar
Monday Mar 1, 12 noon PST, Zoom
  • Students who have completed their core course requirements may participate in an exchange program, in either the Fall semester or the Spring Semester. More info and partner schools here.
  • Key dates to remember:
    • Applications Open: Mar 15
    • Deadline to Apply: Mar 29
    • Notifications: Apr 1
    • Deadline to confirm: Apr 12
Update: Chou Hall Individual Workrooms for Haas Graduate Students
  • The Chou Hall Individual Workroom program for Haas graduate students will resume and with expanded hours on Mondays and Tuesdays. This will allow students to utilize indoor workspaces here at Haas. It is optional and voluntary; students are not required to participate.
  • Reservations are 3 hours maximum on:
    • Mondays and Tuesdays: 9AM until 9PM
    • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 9AM until 4PM
    • Haas is hoping to expand access to these workrooms to include Wednesday and Thursday evenings and weekends and the Program Office will keep students posted.
  • Refer to the email titled "[EWMBA] Chou Hall Individual Workrooms for Haas Graduate Students."

Class of 2021


Review Graduation Requirements
  • For students graduating in May or Aug 2021, review graduation requirements and the recording and slides from our 3rd year advising on how to complete a graduation audit.
  • If you will not graduate in May or Aug 2021, complete the Graduation Date Modification Form by Feb 28 to participate in Summer and/or Fall bidding.
  • EWMBA students do not need to submit an intent to graduate. The Program Office will check the graduation requirements for students at the end of the semester.

Important Reminders


Haas Speaker Series 
  • The Dean's Speaker Series for the Spring have been posted. For recordings and a list of future speakers, visit the DSS page.
  • The next New Thinking at Berkeley Haas will be on Thursday Feb 25 at noon with Dean Harrison and Jingdong Hua, VP and Treasurer of the World Bank.
Update: Dates Posted for Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 Electives Enrollment
  • Please review the Registration Timeline for Summer and Fall 2021 Electives enrollment dates.
  • The Registration Timeline allows students to know results of Summer Elective Bidding before Fall bidding begins. 
  • There will be a Summer Drop Only Round in Apr for students to make final adjustments to their Summer schedules. 
  • We will announce anticipated mode of instruction (Remote or In Person) before each round of Bidding.

  • Class of 2023 students are eligible to take certain Summer elective courses.
  • If you are considering taking summer courses, check the Registration Timeline for important dates.
  • Pay special attention to any course pre-reqs in the course description.

Women in Leadership Conference 2021

  • Join the Berkeley Haas MBA Women in Leadership group for their flagship annual conference!
  • The conference attracts 400+ emerging and current business leaders from industries across tech, consulting, CPG, entrepreneurship, and more. At this years’ conference - New Leadership for a New World - they will share the stories of women pioneers who are questioning the status quo creating impact at all levels, in the communities, at their companies, and across society.

Group Counseling
  • The CAPS Group Program's mission is to empower students through accessible, culturally affirming group therapy, psycho-educational skills, and strengths-based support groups that promote greater levels of personal health and collective well-being.
  • CAPS groups are free and do not require health insurance. View the list of support groups here and register on this EmailMe Form to get started!  You can also sign up for any CAPS group via the eTang portal.

  • You’ll hear this term frequently, especially if you are changing roles and/or industries.
  • This workshop will help you describe your accomplishments in a way that your new audience can easily understand: reframe your experience such that people in different industries/roles/organizations understand its value.

  • Our Leadership Presence & Your Real Story Workshop will give you tools and ways of being that will support you in showing up as the real deal.
  • What we are finding is that as you go out into the market and have conversations with people, your ability to communicate your confidence, your curiosity, and your clarity of intention is priceless in cultivating relationships and creating job/career opportunities.

  • Want to make sure you are tapping into all the great CMG online resources to support you in your career goals? Come to these quick, 30-minute virtual sessions each month, where we will show you the CMG online resources related to Networking and LinkedIn, Q&A (depending on how many questions you have!). We will also give you a few tips on getting the most out of CMG BEARS.
  • Please note, this session is meant to provide an overview of the various Networking and LinkedIn resources available to you as an EWMBA student and is not a workshop on how to network or use LinkedIn (we have other workshops for that).

Film Screening and Q&A: Still We Fought (formally Choc'late Soldiers from the USA)

  • Join the UC Berkeley Black Staff and Faculty Organization at this film screening to celebrate Black History Month.
  • Still We Fought tells the story of 140,000 Black American soldiers and thousands of British civilians who crossed a racial divide to forge an unexpected bond. For the first time, Black American soldiers experience what it is like to be treated as equals and as Americans.

  • Join the University Health Services (UHS) African American Mental Health Team for workshops utilizing meditation practice, reflection, and community sharing.
  • Rest, Resilience, and Rooting in the Earth Friday Feb 19, 12-1:30PM PST
    • Center the power of rest as resistance and experience our sacred healing relationship with nature and mother earth as a Black community.

    • Honor the stories and resilience of our Black histories, center in the wisdom of the present moment, and dream together about the future as a Black community.

Call for Volunteers Venture Summit Virtual Connect | West
  • youngStartup is seeking volunteers on Tuesday Mar 16 12-2:15PM EST Venture Summit Virtual Connect | West (volunteers will gain free access to the the summit).
  • Volunteering will consist of helping manage two Zoom sessions (50 minutes each).
  • This will provide you with a great opportunity to hear a group of startups present and more importantly the feedback investors have for these companies.
