ALERT LEVEL 3

Monday 15 February 2021

Auckland is now at Alert Level 3 until midnight Wednesday 17 February. The rest of New Zealand is at Alert Level 2 for the same period.

The Downtown Programme will continue working through Alert Level 3 under strict Covid-19 health and safety protocols based on Ministry of Health Guidance and industry best practice. Safety is our key priority.

Minor preparatory works have already taken place on and around our sites to ensure all areas are functioning as per our AL3 protocols during this time.

Although our aim is to continue construction works as quickly as possible, our priority is to ensure the safety of our workers and the general public. As such, the pace of work under Alert Level 3 may not be as rapid as it would be under normal circumstances.

To keep you safe as you walk, cycle or scooter through the Downtown area, we will ensure footpaths and the cycle lane are as wide as possible at all times. As you approach pedestrian crossing points, please be mindful of people next to you and employ the two meter social distancing protocol.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue construction under Alert Level 3.

Many of us on the Downtown Programme are working from home but are still available should you wish to speak with us - contact information is at the bottom of this update.

Stay safe, stay inside and stay well.

Covid-19 update from Auckland Transport
The public has been advised that you must maintain physical distancing of 2 metres outside your home. You must maintain 1 metre physical distancing while using public transport, this includes transiting through the bus/train station.

You must now wear face coverings when on public transport to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Public transport will continue to operate with strict health and safety requirements in place. You should maintain physical distancing and only travel if necessary.

Ministry of Health contact tracing QR codes are displayed on public transport. To help things go smoothly, please install the Ministry of Health’s NZ COVID Tracer app before you take public transport. Remember to scan the code during your trip and enable Bluetooth tracing if your phone supports it.

Fares will continue to be charged over this 3-day Alert Level 3 period, cash is not being accepted on public transport. You must tag on/off with your AT HOP card and we strongly recommend that you register your AT HOP card to help with contact tracing should it be required.

This will allow us to monitor passenger numbers and make fast adjustments to services if required due to changes in demand. AT are working to make those changes as quickly as possible.
