  • Helping unemployed people in their job-seeking endeavours, with an emphasis on helping women and young people
Applications for these grants of up to $10,000 must address a need outlined in one or more of these priority areas.

The HBCF Recovery Impact Grants round opens on Monday 15 February 2021 and closes on Friday 26 November 2021 (or earlier if funds are exhausted).

HBCF Committee Update
The HBCF Committee has welcomed three new members and thanked two departing members.

Craig Rowley joined the Committee and was elected to the position of Secretary in October 2020. He has strong governance skills and experience in advocacy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement.

Julie du Plessis joined the Committee in November 2020 and we will benefit from her talent in developing excellent donor relationships and meaningful philanthropic partnerships.

As a result of the election of councillors to Hobsons Bay City Council in November 2020, former councillor Colleen Gates completed her service as a member of the HBCF Committee.

At its meeting on 11 November 2020, the HBCF Committee expressed its thanks and praise for the valuable contribution made by Colleen Gates through her service to the communities of Hobsons Bay.

In its December meeting, the newly elected Hobsons Bay City Council determined its council and community committee delegate appointments for 2021, and it appointed Cr Pamela Sutton-Legaud as its delegate to the HBCF Committee.
Hobsons Bay City Council also appointed Cr Diana Grima as its proxy delegate to serve on the HBCF Committee whenever Cr Pamela Sutton-Legaud is unavailable.

As a result of Council's delegation decisions, Cr Peter Hemphill's service as a member of the HBCF Committee has ended - though his steadfast support for the Hobsons Bay Community Fund endures.

At its meeting in December 2020, the HBCF Committee expressed its thanks and praise for the valuable contribution made by Cr Peter Hemphill through his service to the communities of Hobsons Bay as a member of the HBCF Committee.

In January 2021, the HBCF Committee approved the formation of a set of subcommittees and working groups.

The HBCF Committee appointed Craig Rowley to chair its new communications subcommittee, Julie Noonan to chair its new grants subcommittee, and Cr Pamela Sutton-Legaud to chair its new partnerships and fundraising subcommittee.

The working groups created by the HBCF Committee are responsible for each of our events planned over 2021 and our projects, such as the Inclusion Project Partnership with the University of Melbourne.
