Japan Receives a Jolt in the Night!
The most intense earthquake I've ever experienced since moving to Japan struck late Saturday night, at about 11 PM JST. You can read a little bit about it here in the Japan Times in English. The epicenter was near where the Great East Japan Earthquake struck almost 10 years ago in on March 11, 2011. Being more than 200 miles from Tokyo, our home didn't shake but a fraction of what it did near Fukushima Prefecture. Please pray for those affected. You can watch the footage in the new clip above to see how much it shook. Thankfully, I have yet to hear of any deaths, only injuries and some infrastructure damage.
Many feel that the Great East Japan Earthquake was a watershed moment for Japan, a marker to the change in the spiritual climate among many people as they came to realize just how futile it is to trust in all this world has to offer. PAZ Church has reaped in that harvest field. Indeed, Jesus himself told us that the harvest is ripe. I pray we could all lay hold of this truth, and experience it in Japan, as well as back home in the US and Brazil.
If you believe the Lord is leading you to invest in missions in Japan, either by going or supporting, please email me and I can help you move forward!
In spite of corona restrictions, a few weeks ago we had a visitor show up at church (in PAZ Coffee Shop), which is closed, but our team was recording the Sunday service for online streaming. He had no exposure to Christianity but was watching the Life in Japan youtube channel and learned about us. Providentially, a team member though he heard something at the back entrance service door to our building. Upon looking outside, he saw D-san just starting to leave. Josiah invited him in and he stayed to watch the recording of the service. Later that week he began meeting with fellow missionary Seth, and quickly came to faith in Jesus. Now he's being discipled and integrated into the body of Christ. It's a team effort. Japan is coming to Jesus!
God is growing his Kingdom in Japan! Thank you for being a part of that!
