January Updates
In the month of January, IFMSA was represented in a panel discussion about the role of health professionals in advancing the eradication of nuclear weapons in light of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), with the recording accessible here. As a follow-up to the webinar, the collaborating organizations issued a joint statement welcoming the entry into force of the treaty (Statement available in: English, Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Spanish).
Furthermore, throughout the month, IFMSA has two more publications shared:
- A statement on the COVID-19 Vaccination, highlighting the current status and situation of vaccination worldwide and calling for a human rights-based and equitable approach to vaccination plans.
- A blogpost on the Year of Health and Care Workers, highlighting the major challenges facing the healthcare workforce and IFMSA’s vision for its future towards an available, accessible, culturally competent and well-trained healthcare workforce.
