The studio is re-opening!
With Hamilton's return to Red Zone, we are able to resume in-person lessons at Bel Canto, with careful health precautions. You can attend your class at the studio this week if you were attending in-person in the fall. Please use the same entrance you were using at the end of last term.

Online Options
If you choose to remain online regularly instead, please just send me a quick note to let me know as it helps me greatly with lesson planning. Even if you plan to mostly lease contact me a minimum of 2 hours before your class if you wish to meet online anytime due to health precautions, inclement weather, or family scheduling. Try to avoid missing your class completely!

Inclement Weather
This week in particular there are some large snow events forecasted, and I expect many students will opt to remain online for another week. No problem! But if you feel safe to drive, you are welcome to begin attending in-person again. I will be here! Try to avoid missing your class completely.

Protocols

We will be screening daily, and expect that no person will enter the studio if they are unwell, have travelled outside of the country or have been exposed to a known or suspected Covid19 case. Students must wear masks and remain at 6 foot distancing, and class size is limited to 4-9 members plus instructor. Guests are limited to 1 adult guardian for children under 10 who must also be masked. We supply hand sanitizer for arrivals and departures and clean high touch surfaces hourly (music stands, door handles). We ask that musicians enter the studio no more than 5 mins before their scheduled class and that departures at the end of class are punctual. For group classes, parents are asked to remain outside during drop-off and pick-up when possible and to wear masks while waiting near the studio entrances. I will personally escort small children to the back entrance.

Lastly, a reminder that all families should use the Municipal Parking lot and avoid parking or stopping in the private lot as these spaces are not available for our use and the increased traffic makes exit and entrance less safe for our students.

Tips for Online Music Lessons

Arrange a quiet environment for your musician.
Set up your music stand at head-height.
Have your sheet music, a pencil, and high-liters ready.
Tune your instrument using an electronic tuner or tuning app BEFORE class.
A microphone & headphones/speakers will improve the sound quality.
Turn Original Sound ON, if given the option in your Zoom call on your device.
In the Audio Settings, choose "Suppress Background Noise- LOW"
Stay muted during group classes until called upon.
