Declaration of Intent – 4th Quarter
Opens TODAY

The Intent to Return window will open today and close March 8th, 2021. A link containing the Declaration of Intent Survey will be made available shortly. Families who select in-person learning for the 4th quarter will report to school on March 22, 2021. We will share the new Declaration of Intent with our community as soon as it is available to us. Families that would like to continue with their child’s current instructional model of virtual or face-to-face will not need to complete a new Declaration of Intent.

At E. Rivers, we will do all we can to maintain our current homeroom classes, but with the potential for more students returning for face-to-face learning, as well as continuing with our mitigation strategies that are already in place, we may not be able to do that. Please know that we understand that this is not ideal, but rest assured we will do all we can to make it work with more children in the building and for teachers/staff who are still approved for telework.

Lion's Pride and EREF: Proud to Support In-Person and Virtual Learning
As the administration prepared for some students to return to in-person learning, EREF was ready and able to support our teachers and staff. Because of your donations, we are able to fund technology and classroom supplies that enable teachers to engage and support all of our students – whether virtually or in the classroom.

If you missed the fall campaign and still want to donate, it’s not too late. Every gift makes a difference! DONATE today.

COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form
Parents/guardians should use the student form to notify their school as soon as possible if their student receives a positive COVID-19 test or if they find out that they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

COVID-19 Surveillance Testing: Consent Form Now Available
Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is making COVID-19 Surveillance Testing available to all students and staff. COVID-19 Surveillance Testing is a non-diagnostic test that detects the presence of COVID-19, even in individuals who may be asymptomatic. While participation in surveillance testing is not required, it is strongly encouraged. The success of this mitigation strategy and our ability to return and keep students in school, is based on high levels of staff and student participation.

Participating students and staff will receive rapid antigen tests using nasal swabs. These are not the deep nasal nasopharyngeal swabs that are more invasive. The tests take less than one minute to administer and should not disrupt much of the instructional day. Testing is scheduled to begin the week of February 15, and families can opt-in at any point in the semester.

Click here to watch a video about the test and a demonstration of the testing process.

Parents who want their children to be tested must sign a consent form (link below) that would cover their child for one year. The privacy policy is also included below for your review.
