Rehabilitation Research News: February 19, 2021

From the Director's Desk

Greetings! I want to thank all the speakers and attendees at this week's joint NICHD and NCMRR workshop on Opportunities for Rapid Advancement of Limb Regeneration. It was a wonderful meeting with rich discussion.

I wanted to draw your attention to a few items from NIH this week:

  • Save the date for the next National Advisory Board on Medical Rehabilitation Research virtual meeting on May 3, 2021, at 10 a.m. ET.

  • The National Library of Medicine has issued a request for information (RFI) regarding use of common data elements (CDEs) in NIH-funded research, particularly but not exclusively in the context of COVID-19. Applications are being accepted via this web form External Web Site Policy. Some additional background information is available in an Open Mike blog post about the RFI.

  • NIH has released a notice of intent to publish a research opportunity related to return to school during the COVID-19 pandemic. I would encourage those of you with active collaborations with school systems to review the notice.

FY 2021 pre-announcements, as well as all recently and previously released CDMRP funding opportunities, are available on the CDMRP website. Subsequent notifications will be sent when the program announcements/funding opportunities are released. Additional information about applying to CDMRP programs, as well as tips for successfully preparing applications for different types of CDMRP award mechanisms, can be found in the CDMRP webinar series.
