LEAPA Short Story Competition 2020
Public Reading 4th March

Although we had an intimate and socially distanced award ceremony last year, the occasion never arose for a live public reading of the best work, so, before we progress much further with 2021, LEAPA is pleased to announce an online Public Reading of the Best Work of the Competition for Thursday 4th March at 19:30.

The 6 winning pieces (2 Winners and 4 Coups de Coeur) will be read in full, followed by a number of extracts from works which reached the jury short list. There will be time for a brief discussion of the works after each reading so that the evening is expected to last a good hour and a half, a sufficient length of time to be sitting in front of a screen, even if at home with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.

There will be a break to stretch legs and for those who wish to stay after and talk, the Zoom meeting will stay open. There will be a large number of readers, so not only a variety of writing styles and content, but also a variety of voices bringing the pieces to life. There will also be the possibility, in ‘breakout rooms’, for people to have separate conversations – between writer and jury member, for example, or between individuals – after the readings are finished.

Anyone who is interested in participating is requested to contact Rose@leapa.eu. The public reading will take place on Zoom for which a link will be sent to you on 1st March.

Theatre – Members Discount Tickets Still Available!

We are pleased to inform you that the theatres are open again and the LEAPA offer of reduced ticket prices is still available. We appreciate that we all need to be cautious about visiting public spaces but, at the same time, we think we should do our best to support Luxembourg City's theatres. They have introduced restrictions to address the risks of Covid, which are set out in full on their website at https://theatres.lu/

Please note that these theatres have significantly reduced their seating capacity so it is advisable to book early. Payment is not required until one month before the performance date and, if the theatres cancel any performance, you will receive a full refund of any pre-paid amounts!
.
