HBC FAMILY NEWS

HERE IS HIGHLAND'S SCHEDULE THIS SUNDAY:

- 8:40am small group in the Chapel (mask-required) and Life Center
- 10am Chapel with live music and streamed sermon and Life Center
- 11:20am Life Center
- All of these Gatherings can be watched live at hbcwaco.org or on the Highland app.
If you are able to attend the 10am Chapel or 11:20am Life Center, that would be very helpful!
 

We finish our See Jesus series this Sunday as we go to the Old Testament and find the character, person, and heart of Christ there. At 10am in the Chapel, we will have a Gathering with live worship and a livestream of Pastor John's message. This week we are asking Koinonia ABF, Prime Time ABF, Empty Nest ABF, College Leadership Team & College CG Leaders to worship in the Chapel at 10am, as well as anyone else interested in worshiping in that venue. Let’s continue praying with and for one another as we move closer to this Sunday!

* "The Elders, in continuing to listen to Highland’s own doctors and medical professionals, are encouraging Highlanders (over the age of 10 and those without breathing conditions) to wear a mask for the entirety of the Gathering for this present season. The Elders feel this is a good effort to do all we can to maintain the lack of spread we have seen at Highland and in recognition of the concerning number of spread in our city. Highland is partnering with other churches in Waco who are making this same encouragement. The Lord has been extremely gracious to the Highland Family during this time, and we are, as are you, keeping our eyes and hope fixed on Him!"

WELLNESS CENTER UPDATE
 As we continue to move forward with the physical building, we also continue to move ahead with our current ministries. We still need to raise $318,038 to finish out the project. If the Lord puts it on your heart to give this week, would you consider doing so? We cannot wait to open the doors of this new building for ministry all around our neighborhood! MEDICAL DEBT PAYOFF

Highland has a goal of raising $75,000 to eliminate $8 million of medical debt in the Greater Waco area. Pick up a Giving Jar in the Life Center and team up with your family or roommates to fill the jar. Exchange loose change at the bank and return cash only to Highland by April 4. From now through April 4, anything given to “Missions” by text or online on a Sunday will go directly toward the Medical Debt Payoff Project.
PINE COVE CAMP IN THE CITY

Pine Cove's Camp in the City is coming to Highland July 26-30. Kids Kindergarten-5th Grade can sign up for an amazing week of learning about God. Registration begins Feb. 23. For more information, go HERE
SENIOR ADULT GAME DAY

Senior Adult Game Day will be Monday, Feb. 22, at 2pm in the Fellowship Hall. Bring snacks and enjoy the fellowship!
 
COUNTDOWN TO MARRIAGE

Legacy Family Ministry is offering another 6-week Countdown To Marriage class beginning Sunday, March 28. We are also offering another Spring Weekender May 22-23. 
STUDENT UPDATES

We will meet this Sunday, at 10am for Student Connection. Home groups will meet Wednesday evening. For home group locations and weekly updates, go HERE

COLLEGE NIGHT
 
The next College Night is Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 7pm. Join us for a night of worship and digging deep into the Word with our college church fam! 
LITTLE YEARS
 
Join us for our next playdate on March 1, from 9-11am, at Little Land Play Gym in Hewitt. Pre-registration is not required. Just bring your little ones and enjoy some fellowship. For more information, email thelittleyears@highlandbc.org

PRETEEN CAMP

Mark your calendars for Preteen Camp for all 3rd - 5th Grade students. We will be going to Mt. Lebanon Camp in Cedar Hill June 28 - July 2. Registration will begin in March. For more information, go HERE

FOSTER/ADOPTION GRANT APPLICATION
 
If you are on a fostering/adopting journey and can use some financial assistance along the way, contact Jamie-Hipp@hbcwaco.org for more information and an application. All applications will be reviewed by a grant council on a quarterly basis. The first upcoming application deadline for 2021 will be Saturday, March 20.
PRAY FOR NIGERIAN PASTOR 
 
Pray for our dear brother who is a pastor in Nigeria and is currently under constant threat of his life because of the gospel. He was so blessed by his recent visit to Highland. Pastor said that he was greatly encouraged by our prayer and support of his family in this season. May we remain faithful in praying for his family this month as he has returned home to Nigeria. Pray that God would grant them the strength to stand firm in the face of opposition and persecution. 
FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY NEEDS
 
We need allies to walk alongside our neighbors and encourage them to establish wise monetary habits. Allies will be trained in methods and materials, by Zoom on Feb. 21, 1-2:30pm. Ally and participant meetings are scheduled for at least eight Tuesday evenings 7-7:45pm, beginning Mar. 16, but other meeting days and times may be available. For volunteer application or questions, contact Jamie-Hipp@hbcwaco.org
 
PRAY FOR HIGHLAND MISSIONARIES
 
Pray for our missionaries serving throughout the globe. In this pandemic season they have all taken extra steps to find ways to minister to their neighbors through social media as well as through virtual discipleship and leadership training. Pray the Lord would grant them a patient endurance as they continue to love and minister to their neighbors.
