When you meet Misha what immediately stands out about her is her unbridled enthusiasm coupled with outstanding intellectual ability, as she casually mentions subjects like molecular genetics or animal science and agriculture. Misha naturally and gracefully connects her passion for science with her deep love for animals.
Following her natural curiosity and inquisitiveness, Misha choose a path in research which enables her to entertain big picture ideas and solve interesting questions. She is currently managing two research labs while working on her PhD dairy in the veterinarian science program at Utah State University in Logan. One of Misha’s passions is to get women and girls interested in science. To that end, her labs often host students from 5th grade up to college level.
Misha was nominated for the IWD Adventure Award by her mom, who said the following: “Misha makes me so proud to be a women, she inspires me to learn more and have confidence in myself and the knowledge I have. I am certain that many young females that see her working in action will have aspirations to be like her, for that and so much more I am forever proud to be her mother! She is a true example of hard work and dedication, but what makes her different is the integrity she has with everything she does.”
We can’t wait to meet Misha (as well as her lovely mom!) in person next month on her journey to Kanab. If you'd like to join us and Misha for our full-day Women's Adventure Hike on March 8, you can sign up here - there are only two spots remaining!
