Just a quick reminder of our PD offerings this term plus the availability of Staff Development Days.

1. Accredited Primary Experiments Online PD

This term, we are offering two workshops via Zoom on stage appropriate science experiments for primary teachers. The Stage 1 and 2 workshops last year were very well received. Please click on the links below for further details and registration:

Science Experiments for Kindy Teachers – Wed 24 March (NESA Accredited)
Science Experiments for Stage 3 Teachers – Tue 30 March (NESA Accredited)

ACCREDITATION

Completing Science Experiments for Kindergarten Teachers on 24 March 2021 under NESA’s interim arrangements will contribute 4 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum addressing standard descriptors 2.1.2 and 4.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

2. Preparing for the HSC Online PD

This term, we are also offering Preparing for the 2021 HSC workshops in each of the sciences via Zoom. This is the third year of these flagship workshops, as always with completely new material and sample questions to the previous years. Preparing for the 2021 HSC Science Extension Exam – Mon 22 March (Week 9)
Preparing for the 2021 HSC Biology Exam – Saturday 27 March

3. Staff Development Days

There is still availability for booking face-to-face Staff Development Days this year including Day 1 Term 2 (although this usually goes fast so first in best dressed!). Possible agenda for SDDs for individual schools or local clusters include:

Primary: K-6 Science & Technology Syllabus - collaborative planning around Science & Technology programs and scope & sequence
Primary: Digital Technologies - how to integrate Digital Technologies in Science & Technology and across other subjects
Secondary: Science RAP Analyses - collaborative scrutiny of a Science Faculty's 2020 RAP data to inform teaching and learning in 2021
Secondary: Physics Experiments - mandatory and recommended experiments for Y11/12 Physics
Secondary: Physics Syllabus - collaborative planning around Y11/12 Physics programs and scope & sequence
