Hi <<First Name>>, we have new resources, blog posts, and funding opportunities for municipalities to achieve real savings and real change in this edition of The Current Climate. This month we are sharing a lot of information about our Alberta Municipal Solar Program and pending application deadlines.
Install solar this spring, see savings this summer
Timing is everything. Apply now to the Alberta Municipal Solar Program, install your system in the spring, and start seeing the savings this summer. Producing your own electricity will lower energy costs and demonstrate environmental stewardship.

This is the final year of the Alberta Municipal Solar Program. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Apply today.

NEW BLOG! Nine ways to ensure a solar investment is paying off
Communities across Alberta are installing solar photovoltaics (PV) to generate their own electricity, lowering utility costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Here’s how to make sure your project is operating optimally, and ensure your investment continues to pay back now and in the future.

Power your municipality with solar, featuring Town of Viking
The Town of Viking recently energized their 1.05 MW ground-mount solar PV array. It is producing enough electricity to offset 100 per cent of the Town operations' annual electricity use. Viking, like a handful of other municipalities receiving funding through the Alberta Municipal Solar Program, has aggregated multiple municipal loads and is offsetting them with one large solar PV array.

Watch this webinar to learn more about the project, how they did it, lessons learned, benefits, and how you can do it too.

The Toolkit provides municipalities with information to install solar PV on their facilities, reduce permitting and tax barriers in their communities, and engage community members on the benefits of producing local power.

Municipalities across Alberta are taking advantage of the abundant sunshine by installing solar power to lower utility costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Here are three reasons why Alberta is ideal for solar.

Have you heard about our other funding programs?
Since 2009, Alberta municipalities have been taking bold steps with the Action Centre to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They have improved their overall energy efficiency and saved money for years to come. Join other municipalities in taking action on climate change with one of our funding programs.
