Greetings members,
it is great to be able to announce that, with the 5-day lockdown ending at midnight tonight, our golfing program is able to resume. This starts tomorrow, Thursday 18th, with a women's stableford and men's stableford competition to make up for the lost competitions on Tuesday and Wednesday. For those able to participate, you can enter in the normal manner online (at the time of writing 70 players have already done so.)
Saturday will see the resumption of the Men's Club Championships, with the playing of the second round. This will also be the second round of the Family Hotel Stroke Rounds Challenge. The women's program will also resume.
Men's pennant players can expect communication from their team's captain regarding the status of pennant for this Sunday.
Following Premier Dan Andrew's announcement in regard to the end of the lockdown, some restrictions remain in place.  Please note the following:
  • Masks are to be worn indoors and outdoors where it is not possible to physically distance 1.5 meters.
  • Outdoor public gatherings are limited to 20 people. This means that we will only be able to have 20 people at a time on our balcony area. The forecast of fine weather may make it easier to use outdoor areas.
  • Our indoor area will be subject to the "people per square meter" rule, which limits this to 20 people. Please observe signage in regards to physical distancing and numbers of patrons in the clubhouse.
  •  Please sign in and out (whether you go into the clubhouse or not) either using the Q-code or pen-and-paper register.
  • Please remember to use hand sanitation regularly.
  • Please remember to be respectful and courteous to our clubhouse staff as they work hard to ensure our club is complying with Covid rules.
Finally I am pleased to announce that, despite the lockdown, double hip-surgery went ahead for our club professional Anthony Bambridge.  Anthony has reported that all went very well, and that despite soreness he is on the road to recovery. I am sure we all wish him the best as he recuperates over the coming weeks.
See you out on the course!
Regards,
Captain Jim
