Call to Action: Ask the Board of Supervisors to Support Waiving
Business Registration Fees and Certain License Fees
Supervisor Stefani has introduced legislation under File #02141 - “Waiver of Business Registration Fees and Certain License Fees.” This ordinance is co-sponsored by Supervisors Ronen, Mandelman, and Haney.
This ordinance would waive business registration fees for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2020, and certain license fees originally due on March 31, 2020 for qualified businesses.
Qualified business are those who:
a) received more than 50% of its total combined San Francisco Gross Receipts for calendar year 2019 from business activities in the City that were precluded during all or a portion of the local health emergency and/or from the activities of a facility that prepares and serves food for delivery or carry out or a restaurant; and
(b) had $25,000,000 or less in total combined San Francisco Gross Receipts in calendar year 2019.

It is critical that our Board of Supervisors understand the fiscal impact these waivers would provide to our restaurant community.
This ordinance is being heard tomorrow (Wednesday 2/17) at the Budget and Finance Committee starting at 10:30AM. This is item #1 on Wednesday’s agenda so please plan to call in at 10:30AM to get in the public comment queue.
