SEARCA and the Provincial Government of Quezon Ink Agreements for Scaling Agricultural and Rural Development Model

SEARCA and the Provincial Government of Quezon recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Letter of Agreement (LOA) to develop a project on the coconut industry growth areas in the province of Quezon.

Sharing a common goal of contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of farmers and farming families through agricultural innovations, both parties agreed to scale SEARCA’s agricultural and rural development (ARD) model in the province employing action research strategies. Identified collaborations will mainly focus on product development, strengthening market linkages, and capacity building for farmers’ organizations.

Kingdom vows to reduce emissions

Cambodia is focusing mainly on reducing greenhouse gas emissions to meet the country’s goal of reducing its emissions by 21 million tonnes per year in order to combat climate change, according to Ministry of Environment spokesman Neth Pheaktra. Reduction efforts would focus primarily on the energy sector but also heavy industry, vehicles and waste management as well as agriculture and forestry. Read more…
