**Construction Closure**

The Main Library will be CLOSED Monday, February 22nd & Tuesday, February 23rd.  We will reopen on Wednesday, February 24th with new hours and adjusted services.

The Lakeland Public Library will begin a two-phase construction project on February 22nd, 2021.

Phase 1 of the project will renovate the adult services areas of the building, replacing lighting, ceiling fixtures, HVAC system, and ductwork. This phase will include the creation of the Lakeland History and Culture Center within the library.

The second phase of the project, to begin after the completion of Phase 1, will renovate the youth services areas and meeting room space in the building.

Step One: Closing

The Main Library at 100 Lake Morton Drive will be closed on Monday, February 22nd & Tuesday, February 23rd in order to convert the public meeting room into a space to check out and return books, pick-up holds and browse a collection of high demand materials.
The Larry R. Jackson Branch & the eLibrary South Lakeland will be open regular hours on these days.

Step Two: Re-opening with New Hours

The Main Library will reopen on Wednesday, February 24th with new hours of operation.
All visitors to the Main Library will be routed into the meeting room to pick up holds, return or check out items and to access the Children's Room.

Computers & Printing

There will be no computers and no printing fpr adults available to the public at the Main Library after February 21st.

Computers and printing are available at the Larry R. Jackson Branch & the eLibrary.

Faxing services will be available at all three library locations.

Photocopiers will be available at the Main Library and the Larry R. Jackson Branch.

Study & Training Rooms

Study and training spaces for adults will not be available at any location.

The study rooms in the Children's Room will be limited to families, and children with adult tutors.
Proctoring services will only be available at the Larry R. Jackson Branch, beginning February 22nd.

Children's & Teen Rooms

The Children and Teen Rooms will be open during all of phase one construction. The Children's computers and tutor rooms will be available to children and families.
Please note, adults must be accompanying a child to remain in the children's area.

Book Sale & Donations

The Friends of the Library book sale at the Main Library has been suspended for the duration of the project's first phase.

We will not be accepting any donated materials during the construction period.

Black & Brew Will Be Open

Black & Brew coffee shop will remain open during the entire construction project.
Their hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5 pm
Saturday, 8 am - 5 pm
Sunday, 10:30 am - 5 pm
The Main Library's collection is still available for reserves!

The Adult Collection

Because the Main Library's HVAC system is being redone, parts of the building will be without air conditioning for extended periods of time.  Add to that the debris from the ceiling and lighting replacement and it was clear we needed to move the Main Library's collection to avoid damage to the books and AV.

The bulk of the adult collection will be warehoused off-site, but still available for patrons to reserve online or by phone.  Any items placed on hold between February 22nd and February 28th might see a delay as everything is being moved, but by March 1st service should be running normally.
Looking to browse?  The Larry R. Jackson Branch & the eLibrary South Lakeland's collections are available.
