Generation produced from our local dams is being used to help feed the electric grid during this period of extreme winter weather. The balance of water flow across the system will most likely cause Lake Hamilton to drop a few inches lower than we typically see during a five-foot drawdown. It will be like, but is not expected to reach, the level we saw just last December when we lowered Lake Hamilton for maintenance repair at the downstream Remmel Dam. The level of Lake Hamilton is expected to be returned to the normal five-foot drawdown range by next week if not sooner.
