Hi everyone,

Yesterday we announced our first work experience programme with one of Europe's largest economic consultancies, Frontier Economics. The programme involves an opportunity for professional TBEN members to be mentors. Details on how to become a mentor are outlined below.

Thanks,

TBEN Team

CALL FOR MENTORS

We are looking for TBEN members who can support with mentoring and providing feedback to the University students who will be applying to the Frontier Economics Black Heritage Insight Programme

Application Support
This would be roughly a 3-hour commitment across w/c 22nd February and w/c 1st March. You would be expected to provide feedback on CVs and motivational questions for students who request application support. TBEN will match you with the relevant applicants (no more than 3 per person).

Mentoring
The programme is expected to commence w/c 19th April. As a mentor, you would be expected to have a pre-call with up to two students to provide them with guidance and support before they start the programme, and a further call while they are on the work experience. The goal of the mentoring would be to provide the students with coaching so that they are able to make the most out of the programme, including passing on advice from your own experience of previous internships/work experience.

We are looking for mentors who come from all economics professions/fields - we would especially like to have volunteers who have current or prior experience of economic consulting, given the nature of the company offering the work experience. Please contact hello@tben.co.uk with ‘TBEN Work Experience Mentor’ in the subject line, your name and current/previous roles, and whether you are interested in helping with the Application Support or Mentoring role, or both.
