Classes are back. COVID cases are on the rise. The snow is piling up. It seems like everything is happening at once here at Syracuse University.

Chancellor warnings classes are at risk

COVID-19 cases already are on the rise days into the start of the Spring semester causing students, faculty and staff to be leery of potential suspension to classes and campus activities. The uptick in new cases follow several off-campus parties hosted by members of the Greek community and SU athletes.

Kent addresses SU community about the rise of Covid cases

THIS WEEK'S SYRACUSE NEWS

  1. Athletic Director John Wildhack issued a letter to the SU Athletics community after reports of a maskless party hosted by players surfaced on social media.
  2. Novelist and Vietnam refugee Viet Thanh Nguyen stressed the importance of using Asian-American voices in popular culture during this week's University's Lectures talk. 
  3. Syracuse women’s ice hockey is trying to close out its season strong as the Orange maintains a three-game winning streak.

Most Syracuse students from out-of-state loath the long, cold, dark months accompanied with snow and extremely chilly weather, but others gear up for yet another outdoor winter sports season. As the steady snow keeps the local hills primed for skiers, Gavin Liddell reminisces about the time COVID-19 put a stop to the season for his friends and him.
