Call for 2021 SNTI Research Poster Proposals

The Center for START Services is inviting submissions for the 2021 Virtual START National Training Institute (SNTI) Poster Session. Poster submissions should be research based and focus on practices, tools or interventions that promote positive outcomes for individuals with IDD and behavioral health needs. Posters will be judged by a committee of experts in the field of MHIDD. First, second, and third place winners will be announced during the Virtual SNTI Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 5th from 2:15-3:30pm ET/11:15-12:30pm PT.

The poster sessions will follow the same format as last year. All accepted posters will be available on the SNTI website one week before the SNTI. Along with the poster, there will be the accompanying abstract and a 2-minute (no more than 3 min please!) video from the authors describing their research. Viewers can post comments and questions in response to the posters and their accompanying abstracts. During the SNTI, poster presenters will be assigned to one of two timeslots in which their video will be presented, and questions can be posed in the chat box. A moderator will read the questions to the identified presenter for each research poster, and the presenter will answer as many questions as possible over the course of the 5-minute discussion.

Following the two virtual poster sessions, a panel of judges will score posters. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, 5/6 during the awards ceremony. Below is an outline including deadlines/timeframes for completion as well as other information you may need. Please feel free to reach out to Andrea Caoili, Ann Klein, and your CSS project managers with any questions.

Posters will be shared on the website. They will be accompanied by the research abstract and a brief pre-recorded video presentation.
