Chancellor presents to House and Senate committees

On February 8, Chancellor Girod presented to the Senate Ways and Means Higher Education Subcommittee and the House Higher Education Budget Committee

The chancellor discussed how KU grows the economy, state funding, and how the pandemic has impacted KU. In particular, the Chancellor noted that Governor Kelly this year recommends a $13.6 million cut to KU's base appropriation, which would be the largest cut to KU in history.

Three new COVID-19 treatments being tested at KU Medical Center

Three new outpatient treatments will be tested at the University of Kansas Medical Center in efforts to broaden options for COVID-19 patients.

These new treatments include a pill, an injection, and a medication that can be inhaled through a home nebulizer, all of which may make it easier to receive COVID-19 treatment outside a hospital.

Capitol Graduate Research Summit goes virtual

Eight graduate students from the KU-Lawrence campus and five from KU Medical Center are putting their groundbreaking research on display starting Feb. 18.

KU students will join graduate students from Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University and Wichita State University at the Capitol Graduate Research Summit.
