Worship Update
In-person worship resumes February 14th with restrictions.

One of the restrictions for going back to in-person worship is having to limit the number of people at the worship service. You must pre-register by calling or emailing the office to be on the list. As of Wednesday AM, yes, there are open spots.
Call the church (319-334-3689) or send an email (fumcKari@gmail.com) if you would like to be on the list for Sunday's in-person worship service.
(The service will continue to be available via Facebook, the radio broadcast and our website as usual, so if you aren’t quite comfortable coming back to in-person worship, you will still have options.)
Pledge Cards You will receive a pledge card in the mail, please fill it out and mail it back to the church using the stamped envelope that will arrive with the letter and pledge card.
"What Love Means" During the month of February, we would like to do something different for the slide show during the offering. What we would like is for you (both kids and adults) to answer the question "what love means." Then email your answer and a photo of the person answering the question to either Sarah Rothman or to the office and I will forward it to her.
100th Birthday! Eileen Williamson will be celebrating her 100th birthday on February 24th.

Keep in mind if you are coming to in-person worship this coming Sunday, we are not allowed to hand out bulletins. Print yours out prior to coming, or you can always just follow along to the screen.
Office Closures If the weather is bad, the office might be closed. If that is the case, I will put an announcement on our website right under "announcements." You can always call and leave a message or send me an email and I will get back to you.
Notary If you need something notarized, stop by the office.
Mission Committee Fundraiser
Items are in from the Mission Committee's fundraiser. We have a few extra items. Stop by the office if you would like to purchase something.

The Independence Public Library is hosting the author of this year’s One Book One Independence selection, William Kent Krueger. In this virtual visit, he will share more about himself and his writing, followed by the journey involved in the writing of This Tender Land
Relay for Life Buchanan County Fundraiser: Valentine's Drive Thru Dinner

3:00 – 6:00 pm @Immanuel Lutheran Church
Relay For Life Buchanan County will host a Drive Thru Valentine’s Dinner on Sunday, February 14th from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (back parking lot with the canopy). The Pork Producers will supply Pork Burgers and the menu will include baked beans, potato salad, and a cookie. The cost is $5 per meal, or you can also purchase a rose to give to your sweetheart with the meal for $8. They plan to accommodate 60 meals every 15 minutes, so please call ahead to place an order. They will only be taking orders for meals now through Wednesday, February 10th at noon.
Please call Don Mumm at 319-334-3888 or 319-334-8459 to place your order. They will have people directing traffic, taking money at your car, and delivering your meal to your car as you come at the scheduled time. Please have exact amount ready as you drive in and stay in your car to have your meal delivered to you. Relay for Life of Buchanan County wants to wish everyone a safe and happy Valentine’s Day!
Independence Chamber of Commerce
Public Open House to take a look at and give your input on the Independence Downtown Plan.
Thursday - February 25th at 6:30pm.
There will be a Facebook Live on the Chamber page for the presentation portion of the open house.
