Hello <<First Name>>,

Joe HydeThe water quality problem is a big hit on small businesses in San Angelo. While big box retailers will further their march to greater riches becoming the sole vendors of things like bottled water, restaurants, bars, and even insurance agencies have to be shutdown because the water is suspect.

What we know as of Feb. 9 is that the TCEQ suspects nephthalene, the chemical in mothballs, has somehow gotten into the water supply. An EPA study on this phenom indicates it is something common but not that common.

Here’s the bullet points of what is known right now:

  • Complaints of unusual odor in tap water in PaulAnn area
  • City collected water samples to send to labs to help determine cause of the odor
  • Do not use water at this time. This extends to the entire city as well customers of the city water utility system. You can find that list at cosatx.us/news.
  • Do not use water for anything other than flushing toilets or watering landscape. This includes bathing, handwashing or any consumption. We recommend using bottled water at this time.
  • This does not allow for retail food establishments to remain in operation at this time.
  • Boiling water will not help because the potential contamination is NOT bacterial and therefore cannot be killed via boiling. We are continuously monitoring for bacteria – it is not present at this time.
  • We hope to receive lab results later today.
  • This issue is precautionary until we have more information.
  • Water Department crews and staff have been working nonstop to resolve this issue and restore water back to our community.

What a surprise
WishSALWasActu…, Tue, 02/09/2021 - 00:04

Wish SAL! would quit interviewing Tim Condon for their stories. The man is a menace to the community and makes everything into a conspiracy theory targeting him. The city tells him the water isn't safe, and he fires back that he can operate without city water! (Except for dishwashing, which needs tap water... CITY WATER... and dishwashing is ESSENTIAL in a restaurant. Sheesh, dude.) Why is he the local businessowner who always gets his name in your publications? Try someone else for once. Someone who cares about their community, perhaps?

Biden
CGM5, Sun, 02/07/2021 - 08:27

A father trying to protect his son and also fend off any political heat by denying their guilt. Sound familiar, Joe and Hunter come to mind. However, most of the media kept that story as quiet as possible. Funny how that works.

Yes, people stormed the capitol. A low life hit an officer with a fire extinguisher, killed him and he should be executed for that. The FBI is pulling out all stops to hunt all these people down.

Where was all this drive for justice when antifa was rioting, burning down citizen's businesses, involved in massive looting, fire bombing police while chanting death to pigs, killing people who would stand against them, in general destroying lives and doing all this over a period of months and in several cities. There isn't much news about them being hunted down.   Of course the media and the left proclaimed these as peaceful protests. Again, funny how that works.

Guessing reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Not once have l attempted to justify the illegal acts at the Capital...in fact I said all along it was wrong.

You, on the other hand, have never ONCE said the same thing when it comes to the months long BLM/Antifa riots.

Not trying to deflect blame. Just pointing out if there would have been a greater police presence, both at the Capital and during the months long BLM/Antifa riots, a lot of what happened could have been avoided.

Also stop with the “terrorist” bs all that does is prove how truly foolish you are ;)

How ironic
Jeff L, Mon, 02/01/2021 - 12:28

A tree hugger with hula hoops in her ears is repping this terrorist organization in San Angelo. Even more ironic they've been nominated for a peace prize after MONTHS of burning down their own cities! WHAT A DISGRACE. Even reporting on it as anything different is disgraceful!

At Laughlin,I lived across the street from your folks. My dad was a navigator with the 4080th. Captain Martin Vavra. He did a lot of the mission planning during the Cuban crisis. Your dad had an old Plymouth that we borrowed to use deer hunting.

It will take some time to undo trump's terrible job at handling the pandemic. There are millions of unaccounted for vaccines for instance. The terrorist republicans just can't seem to do anything right.

Hmmm,
ME Someone, Sun, 01/31/2021 - 15:31

So the terrorist republicans attempt (and fail, like always) to overthrow the government and install a dictator, of which there is no argument ( everyone there was waving trump flags and had red hats on/ "stop the steal".) And you blame someone else for not stopping it quick enough? What a fantasy world you live in. So if Someone is murdering someone and the police don't respond fast enough because they are on another call, the murderer should get off scott free? You republican terrorists are more delusional then I thought.

Working out very well actually. Protecting the environment from this kind of thing should be a very high priority. The only people griping are rich oil people anyway.

Yeah, not charged because it was a homeless man. But if it was a rich white guy they would have thrown the book at him.

Also according Maj. Gen. Walker...Pentagon officials restricted the commander of DC National Guard’s authorities ahead of the Capital incident...which meant he could not immediately deploy troops when the Capital police chief called asking.

According to a Jan. 6 article from The Hill...”A Pentagon timeline of events says it took roughly an hour and a half to approve the Guard’s deployment on Jan. 6 after requests were made by Capital police and Mayor Bowser”.

A bit off topic, but details coming out about what REALLY happened in DC on Jan. 6. According to a Jan. 4 article from dc.ng.mil “ Approximately 340 (NG) personnel will support the city government Jan. 5-7 by providing crowd control at several Metro stations and assist police with street closures at multiple intersections to provide safety in and around pedestrian areas.”

Maj. Gen. William J. Walker, commanding general of the DC National Guard: “At the request of Mayor Muriel Bowser...our main mission is augmenting select traffic control points and metro stations identified by the Metropolitan Police Dept.”

So whose failure was it to protect the Capital during the so-called “insurrection”? Mayor Bowser had 340 NG troops available to her, and she put them on TRAFFIC CONTROL?

If this happened in Austin, Tx why is the Abilene Police Dept noted in the story?

"According to the Abilene Police Department, around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dr. Bharat Narumanchi entered the Dell Children's Medical Group building."

One of the first things Hitler did was to outlaw firearms. After that, his plan was much easier.
