Please help ‘Computer Friendly’ to recycle old laptops & tablets for those in need
Dear Members
The Chairman of a local charity, ‘Computer Friendly’, has asked me to circulate this urgent appeal for old laptops & tablets which will be re-purposed with fresh hard drives and software.
So far, 71 laptops & tablets have been delivered to local primary schools and several to vaccination centres.
A message from ‘Computer Friendly’ follows.

Do you have an old laptop or tablet?
Computer Friendly – a local charity which normally runs face-to-face IT courses – has a small team of volunteers recycling old machines and giving them to people who need them - especially families with children who are having to learn online.
What about my personal data?
We might remove the laptop hard drive and destroy it! If you need advice to save your data before donating it, please get in touch.
What devices can I donate?

Runs Window 7, 8 or 10 (PC)

Has its power adapter

iPads and Android Tablets

Will start up.

Please do a factory reset if required to erase all data before donating.

Can you please unlock the find my 'iPad setting in iCloud'.
Windows Desktop PCs & iMacs
No thank you - they are too bulky for us.
Laptops and tablets which don’t meet the requirements could still be useful for spare parts as would USB mice, power adapters etc.
