Be Lent-Prepared!
Lenten Book Study: We will be reading “Sabbath as Resistance” by Walter Brueggemann after church on Sundays. Each week in Lent is dedicated to one chapter in the book. There will be some guest speakers (TBD). Please purchase the copy with the study guide if possible. This book is the inspiration for our entire Lenten series. You are encouraged to read the chapter BEFORE Sunday but nothing is required. Come once or each time. Starting on Sunday, February 21st at 11:15am. The same Zoom link for Sunday worship will be used.
Ash Wednesday Interactive Service: February 17th at 7pm. You will receive sometime before this date a Lenten goodie bag that will include Ashes and a candle among other items. For our Ash Wednesday service we will be administering ashes at home/virtually and will also be creating Lenten Intention candles during our time. For the candles you are encouraged to purchase “Mod Podge Glue” and gather some magazines/pictures ahead of time. Instructions will be included in the bags. You can think of this night as a Decoupage Ash Wednesday Service. Find the Zoom Link here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89769578396?pwd=Rnd2QmJLUHpSamxidUlmcjdVU2JWZz09

Announcements
- Check out this great story of how one of our conference camps, Pilgrim Firs, has been housing folks touched by COVID: https://www.ucc.org/pilgrim-firs-houses-community-members-touched-by-covid-19-welcomes-100th-guest/
And, here's the response from Wade Wick, the Managing Director, after this article was posted on the conference's listserv: As we welcomed our 100th guest a few weeks back, we continue to be grateful for the many ways churches and individuals have helped us live into this ministry calling during this pandemic season. We had a family on site last week with six-year-old and 10-year-old daughters. The dad had been on site positive the week before and mom and daughters followed all positive with COVID as well. The space was healing and there was great joy watching them fish and play in the cold water of Lake Flora. The 6 year old was much like the campers who have filled this space for the past 65 years - so much energy, curiosity and even laughter in such a tough time. Our camps help make that kind of ministry happen - thank you for your prayers and support!
- Wanted:
A small, detached housing unit, accessory dwelling unit or similar with full or ¾ bath, on a patch of urban or countryside land, for a woman who just fled domestic violence and has a learning disability where a gentle pet goat can live outdoors and be adjacent. She is capable and functional for all self-care. Laundry access a plus. If she’s able to stay on your property we’d arrange a nearby case manager for any systemic needs that arise for her well-being. She has modest income so she could pay something as generally outlined by the homeless system (e.g., 1/3 of monthly income). Being proximate to public transportation is necessary. Do you fit this need? Or maybe someone you know in the South King/North Pierce area. Contact The Rev. Bill Kirlin-Hackett, Director, Interfaith Task Force on Homelessness, 425-442-5418, or itfh@comcast.net
- The Wednesday Weekly Gathering is tonight at 6:00pm! Join Bonnie, Jill, and Robbie for fellowship & fun! This week we'll play Scattergories or trivia! All ages welcome! BYOBeverage. Sign in HERE!
- Want to meet with Pastor Allysa virtually? Now you can schedule time to do just that! Just follow this link: https://calendly.com/pastordewolf/pastorcheckin

Introduction to Conflict Resolution, Rev. Sophie Morse, facilitator
In this 1-hour introductory workshop we will look at the basic anatomy of conflict, a reliable path to resolution, and a tool for examining the ways that we can trip ourselves up on this path. Participants will walk away with a framework they can apply to any conflict, whether interpersonal, inter-organizational, or internal. The workshop will be interactive and allow for questions and discussion. No charge, but registration required. Registration materials available early January.
