Finding Balance
Dan and Sharon Leatherwood in Spain

Context: In the home office we see many prayer letters from our missionaries.  Covid has taken a toll on their ministries, but the Lord has also opened many  other doors to minister which could not have happened without the Covid restrictions. Amid the frustrations and discouragements, missionaries are finding great balance in the “new normal.” The following is an excerpt which eloquently lays out that balance.

“The other day I had an interesting conversation as I was doing some shopping.  The cashier asked how this season is going, and that conversation developed and we talked about how this has been a good year.  Ok, now I imagine that you might be thinking “What planet are you living on, haven’t you been following the news and living in reality…?!”  But as we talked, it hit me how this year has made people break out of their comfort zone and out of their “normal”.  We have all had the opportunities to stop and see what really matters.  This cashier said emphatically, “I, for one, will never complain about having to come to work again!”  It is easy to see people who have chosen to argue and fight and attack others instead of recognizing the importance of taking advantage of this moment.  In 2020, plans and traditions haven’t played out like expected, but special moments have risen for those willing to keep moving.  God has taught us to avoid the attitude of just wanting to change the calendar page to 2021 and start over.  Instead, we should relish every day and search for the lessons that he is teaching in each moment, as we would seek for treasure, because His tender lessons have so much more than the treasure this world has to offer.”

The Organ Mountains in Las Cruces, NM
I proposed to Helen in Las Cruces 50 years ago.  It was at night, and these Organ Mountains were lit up with lightening. They are still beautiful!
We spent Christmas at Helen’s brother, Jim’s house in Las Cruces.  After a few wonderful days, we got in our car to go back to WY.  We missed the on ramp at I-25 due to construction, and after we turned around the temperature gauge pegged out.  Our water pump had gone out.  It was the Lord who had us miss that exit. Parts were difficult to find, and our overnight package was going to take eight days to arrive.  Jim lent us his vehicle to go back to WY, because we did not have enough meds for the extra time there.  In the meantime, the Lord had previously put it on two different people’s heart to give us a monetary gift.  Guess what?  It was exactly the amount we needed!  Our God is beyond awesome.

Continue to PRAY for the switchover from Quickbooks to APLOS.  A big share of it is completed, but it will take several weeks to get all parts working.
It will be a great source for the home office, and will make many things easier in the future.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT IN OUR MINISTRY WITH THE HOME OFFICE OF TENTMAKERS BIBLE MISSION.

Our love in Christ,
Terry and Helen
