Yay – we are supporting yet another community solar array! Two of our newest board members – mom Megan Kelso and son Cody (youth representative) are undertaking a walk from Gibsons to Powell River to raise funds for a solar panel array on the roof of the SPCA building in Wilson Creek. Located at 4376 Solar(!) Road the roof is ideally oriented for solar panels. Cody is very concerned about climate change and sees the great potential of solar as a benign alternate energy source. The dynamic duo is also planning to raise some money for the BC Sustainable Energy Association.
Please consider donating to these worthwhile causes by going to:

(tax receipts available)
The walk will start on March 14th, and continue over spring break. We plan to have two guide cars accompany each section of the walk and are calling out to any electric owners who would like to help. We need two EV guide cars for each section of the walk. If you can help (hybrid vehicles are also welcome!) even for a couple of hours, please contact the SCCSA at:

After carrying out a solar audit of the local SPCA shelter in Wilson Creek, we presented a proposal for a 24 panel rooftop array on the shelter in Wilson Creek. This will cut their annual BC Hydro bill in half over the next 25+ years, freeing up funds for other expenses.
