Announcements
Kindway EMBARK is Back at MCI!
Have you heard the news? We are thrilled to announce that the Marion Correctional Institution (MCI) has opened the doors to Kindway's EMBARK program after a long break due to COVID restrictions!

We are returning with a priority to get reacquainted with our graduates at MCI, first offering programming that encourages rebuilding our existing community before growing it.

This is an exciting time for Kindway graduates, volunteers, and staff. Essential to our mission is to have access to the mission field. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to continue glorifying Him through the service of Kindway volunteers and the transformed lives of Kindway alumni.

Kindway Network Steps Up
We thank the Lord for everyone who was able to contribute to the needs of one of our alumni with furnishings, appliances, housewares, and clothes during a very trying time. As she cares for three grandchildren, with one who is battling cancer, she is enduring her own medial issues. We seek the Lord for mercy.
Leave A Mark Church is resuming the Fresh Start ministry on March 1, 2021. For years, they have been providing an outfit for every woman leaving prison. We thank the Lord for their continued commitment to the women. For this ministry, the Kindway family recently contributed fabric and materials so that those at the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) could resume making Fresh Start going home bags for each woman released.
Kindway Staff Additions

We are pleased to announce that Debbi Roberts has joined the Kindway staff fulltime in January 2021 as Operations Manager. Debbi comes to us from Heritage Christian Church where she was an Executive Admin for 3 pastors, 1 Director, and the Elders for fifteen years. She has also been a devoted Kindway Volunteer for 9 years. We thank the Lord for Debbi's passion for the incarcerated and for guiding her to Kindway.

Debbi is filling the position held for eight years by Heather Bernardo-Gildner who recently joined her fiance' as a business partner. We are thankful for Heather's many years of service and expect the Lord will bless her in her future endeavors.

We also welcome Mary Grace Palmer. Mary Grace will be interning with Kindway as she works on her Masters in Social Work at the Ohio State University. Mary Grace holds a Bachelor's degree in Politics & International Affairs from Furman University in Greenville, SC. In college she had the opportunity to intern with the European Union in Brussels, where she worked for the United Kingdom and conducted research on unethical trade. She also served as a Jesuit Volunteer in Los Angeles, where she worked with people experiencing homelessness. Before coming to Kindway, Mary Grace worked as a Public Policy Consultant for the Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative. During her time working in LA, she saw firsthand the extent to which people with criminal records experience barriers to finding housing, securing a job, and living a prosperous life. She hopes to pursue a career in criminal justice reform after graduation. Her humility is evident in her approach to learning how to serve men and women impacted by incarceration through Kindway's Christ-centered programming. We are extremely blessed that she has decided to advance her calling by interning with Kindway.

Congratulations Lee and Shannon English
Last year we were proud to announce the marriage of Kindway alumni, Lee and Shannon English. This year, they have added to the Kindway family. Please welcome their son, Elias Lee. The Lord has been good to the English family. And, what a great pic!
And We Also Celebrate:
  • Felicia who has found a position with Franklin International
  • Erin who is working at Panera
  • Terrence who is advancing his goals working with a new employment partner, Kalmbach Feeds
  • Patty who has found employment at Clean Turn
  • Tilly who has just been named employee of the month for January at Clean Turn
  • We also congratulate our alumni Jeff, Frank, as well as Fidencio and Margie on their recent home purchases. Hey Gonzo and Margie, when's the wedding? We love you all!

New Church Partners
It is always our pleasure to announce new church partners in our mission to advance God's mission to those in and returning from the prison mission field. The following churches have recently become supporters or have expanded their investment into Kindway:
Central College Presbyterian Church (CCPC) has recently become a supporting church and is offering to expand their partnership with us with program space. CCPC has also partnered with Juan Martinez, Kindway's Director of Development and Communications, giving a home to his ministry 2&A Wakeup where those returning to Columbus may find a place where they are welcome to worship and grow in small group discipleship in a familiar setting. If you would like to learn more, please email Juan at: 2andawakeup@gmail.com or join us at CCPC at 975 S. Sunbury Rd in Westerville on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 6pm.
Lifepoint Church has been a long-time partner with Kindway. They have donated backpacks for those returning from prison filled with toiletries, towels, socks, wallets, and gift cards for local stores. They have recently expanded their support in new ways.
The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral has recently partnered with Kindway and are requesting more opportunities to serve in the prison mission field. We can never give enough thanks to the Lord for all those He sends our way in order that we may continue sharing His Good News.
