Greetings from the Hub Team!
WINTER STUDY WEEK is coming right up and while we know some of you are partnering with lab students to continue work missed during the lockdown, many of you will be engaged in a combination of rest, recovery, and prep for weeks 8 and beyond.
We hope you will have some time and interest in our Study Week programming. We are offering live sessions as well as short, asynchronous videos and resources to support your ongoing success this semester and beyond.
We have also invited three guest speakers to join us next week and you can learn all about them in their sessions.
Kory Wilson, is an experienced educator, lawyer, and Indigenous Student leader at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). She will join us on March 2 at 2 pm to share her insights and engage in dialogue about personal learning as part of Reconciliation and opportunities with Indigenous colleagues and students.
Dr. Sandeep Puri will be facilitating two very active workshops on Teaching with Cases. Registration is limited to 20 participants and you must commit to both sessions, Tuesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 4 from 7:30 am - 9:30 am. These sessions are early in the day related to Dr. Puri’s time zone.
Jessica Pope, a CBC North journalist will join us Thursday, March 4 at 1 pm to share ideas on creating engaging live broadcasts and recording effective short videos.
The Hub Team has also created dialogue and brainstorming sessions by School as well as an introduction to Moodle Update 2021 with information on new features of our update to Moodle 3.9 and demonstrations of how your courses will look in the new aesthetic theme once the transition takes place.
