Comets News - 11 Feb

Ground Allocations

Please note that we have a SD3 game on Diamond 2 with a JD2 game opposite on Diamond 1. To avoid risk of injury, please follow the following guidelines:
  1. Use cones to separate the home run boundary between the two games, this will allow play to stop if a ball gets hit over or through the cones and award a home run or ground rule double (as the case may be);
  2. Ensure  the outfielders of both games need to wear helmets; and
  3. Ask everyone to be vigilant and warn the outfielders if any fly balls from the other game  get hit towards the outfielders.
A few reminders regarding marking of the lines:
  • If there are no lines visible you will need to set up string lines as a guide;
  • When using undiluted line marking paint, please mix 50/50 with water and any left over diluted paint should be poured in one of the buckets marked as “Mixed”
  • IMPORTANT – the line marking machine needs to be thoroughly hosed out with water after use, please do not leave any paint in the machine as it will cease the machine.
Good luck to all teams.

Thanks

Registrations for Winter PCBL teams opening soon

Registrations for the PCBL Winter competition will open at the end of February, watch our website and newsletters for updates.

In breaking news, the minimum age for playing in the PCBL competition has been lowered back to 14 (subject to a player assessment) so this is a great opportunity for any 14yr olds interested in playing over winter to get a taste of the adult competition. If any 14yr olds are interested, please contact me for more information.

Tamworth Tournament -  While at this stage I haven’t heard from the tournament organisers regarding the Tamworth tournament, I am hopeful the tournament will go ahead and will take expressions of interest along with the Winter registrations.
