Robert Banach
Featured Photographer
Robert Banach first took up photography when he moved to Ocean City, Maryland in January 2014. He described the first morning in his new home and immediately heading to the beach to watch the sunrise; he was stunned by the beauty and couldn't resist pulling his cellphone out to capture the scene. This became a daily occurrence where Banach would travel to the beach every morning, watch the sunrise, and share the photos he took on his Facebook page. Since those first days, his Facebook page has gained the support of thousands of friends, family members, and locals.

A quick look through Banach's images will allow you to notice locations like the inlet beach by the OC Fishing Pier and other popular attractions around the OC area. Returning to the pier time and time again was partially due to the close proximity to his home as well as the consistently gorgeous sunrises. For Banach, the reason behind his photo-sharing was to show his daughters and family members what he was seeing every morning while they were apart. Eventually, photos like the ones featured above reached his extended family and others who wanted to enjoy OC photography whether they were locals or yearly visitors.

For more information, head over to his OC lifestyle Facebook page and here to view photos that are available to purchase as prints, phone cases, pillows, and much more.
Cats for Adoption
Meatball is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair Mix with beautiful brown and black coloring and light green eyes. He is spayed and neutered and it is unknown if he is housetrained. He was found with his leg stuck in a trap, resulting in his front leg being amputated. Meatball is good with other cats and deserves all the kindness a new owner can give. For more information about Meatball and other adoptable furry friends, check out the Brandywine Valley SPCA website as well as their Facebook page.

Making a Strong First Impression: Tips for Staging a Home for Sale
by Alice Robertson

There’s no way around it — selling a house requires a lot of work. You can’t just do some dusting, a little vacuuming, mow the lawn, and declare it ready to hit the market. Your house has to be a property that anyone passing by would want to see more of and could imagine themselves living in. Although this might sound difficult, it’s important to be objective. Put yourself in a buyer’s shoes and take a walk through each room. Look for anything that looks out of place, dirty, or disorganized, or anything that might make a potential buyer think twice. It takes time and a willingness to keep your property in ready-to-show condition. Keep reading for Sandra Erbe’s tips to make the process easier.

K-Coast
Featured Retail
K-Coast Surf Shop is a historical staple of Ocean City, opening in the spring of 1989. At the time, it was located on Somerset Street in downtown OC and housed in a 600 square foot shop originally named Kookaburra Coast, hence the "K" in K-Coast. Although the shop was small, the owners, two surfers and best friends, had big plans.

After taking the opportunity to open in a larger location, Mark and Chris shortened the shop's name and started to gather a community of loyal customers. Through the mid to late nineties, K-Coast began to establish itself as the largest surf shop in Maryland, holding the largest selection of surfboards, skateboards, bodyboards, and hardgoods in the Mid-Atlantic. By late 1999, Mark and Chris were aware of how the number of customers was overwhelming the size of their 78th street location, so they purchased a half-acre parcel at 36th Street in OC that opened officially in July of 2005. Since then, K-Coast opened a warehouse on Sunset Avenue and has started providing the finest collection of paddleboards, lessons, excursions, and equipment there is to offer.

K-Coast Surf Shop can be found at three locations around Ocean City with the largest at 35th Street, a newly renovated location on 78th Street, and the warehouse on Sunset Avenue. Each location opens at 10 AM and has varying closing hours and days that they're opened. For more information, head over to their Facebook page or website!

Today’s greatest investors are well aware of the escalation clause real estate deals may have the potential to exercise; it’s perhaps one of the most advantageous contract clauses known to real estate entrepreneurs, but did you even know it existed? Are you aware that there are a few key phrases that, when added to a contract, can make it more attractive to homeowners looking to sell their property? If you answered yes, I commend you, as you are ahead of the game. If, however, you are racking your brain for a simple explanation, you are not alone.

Volunteer Match - Delmarva
Featured Volunteer Opportunity
Nowadays, it's difficult to find opportunities to volunteer that are safe, so we've decided to make it easier by utilizing VolunteerMatch and their search process. Recently, there have been a lot more health-related volunteer options including helping out at the Blood Bank of Delmarva (Salisbury, Dover, Newark, etc.). There you will be asked to greet donors and/or serve snacks and drinks to blood donors after their donations. Overall, a volunteer's job would be to look after donors and make sure they have a positive and stress-free experience. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a flexible schedule to be considered. For more information and opportunities, click the link below to explore the search engine.
Try it Out!
This month, Sandra Sells the Shore and all of us around the country celebrate the incredible achievements made throughout history by those in the black community. As artists, musicians, inventors, politicians, and much more, people like Henrietta Lacks and Jackie Robinson paved the way for new generations of talent. Take some time this month to acknowledge these names and the injustices that continue to take place every single day.
