COVID UPDATE

Current as of 12 February 2021: Premier Daniel Andrews has announced a 5-day lockdown for the whole of Victoria. From 11:59pm 12 February, there are only four reasons to leave your home: shopping for essentials, caregiving for compassionate reasons, essential work or permitted education. Council Services

Due to today's lockdown announcement, our Customer Service Centre will be closed on Monday through to Wednesday. We will keep the Community advised if the closure is extended based on the Government Advice.

The Warracknabeal Leisure Centre will be closed as of 11.59pm tonight. We will advise on when it will re-open. The library will be closed as of 5.30pm tonight. We will keep the community advised if the closure is extended based on the Government Advice. The transfer stations will also close as of tonight and we will inform the community when they are in operation.

Please also note that the Rupanyup, Lubeck and Murtoa Community Consultation Sessions will be postponed, new dates will be advised.

Proposed sale of 51 Gardiner St, Warracknabeal

Council is seeking community feedback about the future sale of 51 Gardiner Street, Warracknabeal. Council has determined that the house is surplus to Council needs and is looking to sell the property.

Community feedback is welcome until 5pm, 28 February 2021. A decision to proceed or not on the sale will be made at the March Ordinary Council meeting.

Yarriambiack Shire Council would like to inform residents that from the 8 February, for the period of up to three weeks, your household may receive a call from an independent market research agency, National Field Services.

They have been commissioned to conduct a community satisfaction survey on behalf of the council. Similar surveys will be undertaken across Victorian councils in the coming months. The survey has been designed to assess the performance of the Yarriambiack Shire Council across a range of measures to identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to residents.

Payment of 2020/2021 Council Rates in Full by Monday 15 February 2021

Ratepayers are reminded that the final date for payment of Council Rates in full is Monday 15 February 2021.

Payment can be made at Council’s offices located in Hopetoun and Warracknabeal, Australia Post Offices, POSTbillpay, BPAY or by mail to Yarriambiack Shire Council, PO Box 243, Warracknabeal VIC 3393.

Ratepayers that have elected to pay their rates by instalments are reminded that the 3rd instalment is due on Monday 1 March 2021.

All rates not paid by the respective due dates will be charged interest at the rate of 10% on and from the date which each missed instalment was due.

If you think you may have difficulty paying your rates, please contact Council on 5398 0127 immediately to discuss more suitable methods of payment.

Library Service Closed

In accordance with the recent Victorian Government announcement, the Yarriambiack Library in Warracknabeal and Words on Wheels Van will be closed from 5:30pm Friday 12 February 2021 until recommended under Government advice.

We have a winner!
Congratulations to Chris Niewand of Minyip who has won a copy of the popular book, 'The Mallee' as part of our 'New Members in December' competition at the Library. All new members who joined in December went into the draw to win the highly acclaimed book that features many small communities of the Mallee region and the people who call them home.
